The hotel

All-suite and all-inclusive, the Ravenala Attitude is styled in contemporary, colonial and tropical hues. With an open-plan, no boundaries design, the restaurants and bars flow seamlessly towards the pool, gardens and beach beyond. But it’s not all about appearances — it goes deeper. Its ‘Culinary Voyage’ takes you from Asia to Italy in nine restaurants, seven of which you can sample as part of your All-Inclusive package. You can tuck into 'Granmamas' Mauritian fare at Kot Nou, street-food takeaways on the beach at Taba-J, and enjoy the romance of the floating Riviera restaurant. The kids' clubs provide various fun activities, whilst the Sport Village and Boat House offer endless diversions, from kayaking along Rivière Citron to riverbank yoga. And the hotel's ‘Otentik’ concept gives you a true insight into Mauritius, in cookery classes, local music, a self-guided tours app, and a weekly ‘Otentik Bazar’, with all profits from the ‘made in Mauritius’ goodies going to the craftspeople. You can even dine on ‘Otentik Dinners’ with locals in their homes. This charming resort is great for families, with large rooms and a range of activities, whilst couples will love staying in the Executive Seafront Adult Suites in the adults-only section.

Decided to take some time for myself and did my hair at Ravenala Hotel ✨💇‍♀️ With my frizzy hair it’s usually a struggle, but Mrs. Jessica worked her magic and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Such a lovely experience really satisfied and definitely recommend her! 🌸

We went for our honeymoon and I would seriously not suggest this hotel! Rooms were so dirty. We checked in and the ceiling was leaking. Food was bad and service was not acceptable. Just highly suggest not spending time here.

Great time spent with family. Beautiful hotel and welcoming staffs since we arrived. Special thanks to Pawan from Mozaik who made our dining time a great moment, caring and very friendly. Also thanks to Dip for his delicious cocktails. Will definitely come back next time.

Massive shout out to the wonderful kids club there. Our 3 kids were welcomed with open arms by Jennyfer, Joelle, Stefi, and Oceanne. They taught my son to play pool and the girls left on their final day with beautiful Henna tattoos. Every time they went they had an amazing time and they were absolutely gutted when it was home time and they had to say goodbye. We managed to do a couple of scuba dives together and even visited Port Lois knowing our kids were in great hands there - much needed time as a couple! Thank you so much kids club! Read less

In my experience, this is the worst all inclusive hotel I have visited. The hotel is very miserly and most things have a supplement. All international alcohol is supplements and fruit smoothies at the beach are supplemented. For breakfast there is hardly any fresh fruit, no grapes, no mangoes and no exotic local choices. The fruit juice is heavily diluted. Oatmeal Porridge is made with water. There are a few good staff members, but in the main they take customer service in their stride and the customer experience is poor. Our Television doesn’t work, our AC has to keep getting sorted, our telephone kept disconnecting . Cleanliness seemed secondary. Our room was not cleaned unless requested, no iron, no kettle, and sheets and towels were not changed unless requested. An iron is chargeable. Everything is on a very basic level, and if not for the beach it is pointless visiting this hotel. The good restaurants are chargeable and the free restaurants have limited capacity and are impossible to get a booking so it’s the buffet most nights with food cooked with very basic ingredients and it is very noticeable. If you want to use the tennis courts you have to buy the tennis balls as they are not provided. Most all inclusive hotels have wrist bands, but this one you have to sign for every single item. Food is only provided at breakfast, lunch and supper, so if you miss breakfast you have to wait for 12:30 to get something to eat. And if you miss lunch you have to wait for supper. There is a street food vendor on the beach that is open from 12:30 to 5pm. I have been to other all inclusive hotels where food and drinks are unlimited. Not this hotel. I wouldn’t class it as an all inclusive. Bar service is very slow and you have to queue for ages at the beach to get a drink. Also, Rooms are not stocked with water or drinks and each ROOM is only allowed to stock 5 drinks per day which includes water, and you have to go to the hotel shop to collect them yourself so that they can keep a tab of what you stock your room with. The shop is a fairly long walk from the room and after a long day if you head to your room and you’ve forgotten to stock up, you will have no water or drinks. In other hotels, housekeeping stocks rooms, but in this hotel they do not. Overall, we had fun because we were family and we sat at the beach and played games. But I would NOT recommend this hotel !
