Very relaxing. The stuff made us feel so welcome. The weather in the winter time on this side of the island is a bit unpredictable and can be windy on the beach.

Beautiful beach, lovely pool and bar area, friendly and helpful staff - a really relaxed, chilled out vibe for the duration of our stay. It really does look just like the photos online! Kids club’s Charlene was absolutely lovely, great that children were able to come and go as they liked - staff would always pop their head round to the pool area to make sure children got back ok if they’d had enough. Our son loved the cookie making and bracelet making! Breakfast and lunch were great. Buffet style, plenty of choice (always chips at lunch so one happy child!) The only downside for our stay was evening meals. A mad rush at 7pm when dinner opened (if you don’t have children, I’d recommend going to the restaurant at 7.45/8pm), some dishes running out very quickly were then slow to be topped up. Bowls for dessert would run out every evening (our son often had his ice cream in a coffee cup!) Dishes were often very similar or the same each evening, some evenings fussy eaters would only manage bread and potatoes or plain pasta/rice. If you’re open to trying new things and not a fussy eater, you’ll be fine. Our four year old always managed to have something on his plate! It’s important to remember this is a 3* resort so don’t expect 5* service. Getting a drink during lunch or dinner often took a while, we found it easiest to get a drink at the bar before heading to sit down. Good South African wine at dinner, once it gets served! Tables were slow to be cleared and drinks ordered/water poured. Rooms were always well cleaned, our son loved the towel animals! Mini bar in the room is restocked daily. The rooms in block 300 could be noisy during the evening entertainment but our son slept through! If you’re a light sleeper and enjoy an early night I’d suggest requesting a room further away from the bar/pool area. Overall we had a wonderful holiday. If management could get the restaurant running more smoothly, the rating would definitely be 4*. Read less

Everyone is super welcoming, kind and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and compliments the landscape. It was busy but never felt crowded. Everything is very clean. The food and drinks were good. The room is spacious and comfortable - we stayed 3 people in one room. We had a fabulous time! Thank you Veranda!

This was our second visit to Veranda Palmer Beach the first being our honeymoon in 2007. There has been a few changes, an extension to the patio the removal of the gym with the kids club taking it's place and there was also the addition of the juice bar that provided afternoon tea every day which was lovely. The hotel occupies a lovely plot with a beautiful beach and turquoise sea, the boat house provides a good selection of water activities so you can be as active as you like or you can just chill on a lounger. The restaurant is buffet style serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, there was a good choice of dishes (unless you only eat English food in which case you would struggle) The service was good but with a few niggles, the staff are predominantly very helpful and friendly with a few exceptions. We would especially like to thank Faisil ( guest experience manager) for making our second visit as special as our first. Please bear in mind this is a 3 star hotel so the facilities and food/service reflect this. Read less

I was at the hotel with my family for a weekend getaway in May 2025 and it was a pleasant stay. Rooms are kept clean and tidy. A good variety of food is available at the main restaurant. We enjoyed the ambience of Friday evening entertainment which showcased different facets of Mauritian culture. Drinks prepared at the main bar near the pool were fantastic. Special thanks to Mr Kewal and team who did their best to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Hospitality displayed by all staff is indeed commendable. The swimming pool only should be cleaned more thoroughly and chairs at the main restaurant require some upgrading. Overall, it's a very good hotel and value for money. Read less
