Our 1st trip to MAU. Food was very good, accommodation excellent, staff friendly ( Vikesh at the dining area and Junaid at reception). Always something to do if you stay within the resort. We took a public bus, and appreciated Life much more afterwards (try it; life is an adventure afterall. Just watch out to be short-changed, they only accept cash on the bus). We arrived on the spur of the moment at Veranda Grand Baie for lunch and we were still accepted for lunch even though we didn't book ahead. I liked to watch the sun rise on the balcony (1st floor) in the mornings - chairs a bit uncomfortable. Safe in our room was large enough to house my notebook with a 15.6 inch screen. TV stations only French, thank goodness for movies on my notebook. I would recommend you go all inclusive rather than half-board as extra charges build up very quickly. Read less

A truly wonderful hotel with exceptionally friendly, helpful, and accommodating staff who make your stay truly special. Ludovic ensures that every guest feels welcome, providing fun and engaging conversations while always being ready for a friendly game of pétanque with guests and Kenzo from the animation team. Their energy and enthusiasm make activities like boccia, beach volleyball, table tennis and board games even more enjoyable. Nestled on a small beach, the hotel is the only one in the bay, offering breathtaking views. The bartenders craft a fantastic selection of cocktails, mocktails, and other drinks, adding to the lively and welcoming atmosphere. Together with our new friends, a lovely couple from La Réunion, we had a lot of fun at the hotel's rum tasting event. The all-you-can-eat buffet provides a rich variety of options every day, and as a vegan, I was delighted to find something new each evening. The head chef is attentive to special dietary needs, ensuring every guest is well taken care of. The hotel consists of charming chalets with rooms both upstairs and downstairs. Their sand-colored design blends seamlessly into the natural landscape, creating a serene and picturesque setting. The garden surrounding the pool is filled with lush trees, enhancing the tranquil ambiance. Each evening, guests can enjoy a local dance show or live music and our amazing allrounder DJ Kenzo providing fantastic tunes that kept us dancing and entertained. What makes this hotel truly special is its commitment to sustainability—no plastic is used, most of the food comes from local producers, and guests can refill their water bottles at any time. This is a feature I deeply appreciate. On top of all this, the diligent cleaning team ensures that rooms are immaculate daily, surprising guests with beautifully folded towel animals that add a delightful touch. All in all, a hotel is only as good as its staff, and here, we truly hit the jackpot. We had an unforgettable time! By the way the hotel is also... ...a beautiful wedding venue ...taking care of several friendly now not anymore stray dogs ...offering a free shuttle service to another beach close by ...in easy walking distance to Trou aux Biches ...offering its own small souvenir shop ...allowing you to walk barefoot on the sandy paths at all times Read less
