The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are seven restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

We have recently returned from a 10-day trip to Zilwa and have nothing but positive things to say about our whole stay. It is a true paradise! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the stunning view over the lagoon to the islands beyond, and we loved every moment from then until we left. The layout of the hotel is wonderful; everything is easily on hand, it takes only a few minutes to walk between the bars, restaurants, pools and beach, but the use of terracing set amongst lush green gardens and waterways makes it all feel secluded. The infinity pool is wonderful with its views over the ocean. The beach itself provides plenty of sun loungers with lots of palm trees and umbrellas for shade yet was never overcrowded or anything other than peaceful. The food is exceptional; everything is so fresh with such variety on offer. We tried the Indian, Thai and Mauritian themed restaurants in addition to the buffet meals and nothing disappointed. There is a wide range of activities on offer from table tennis to volleyball and a well-equipped gym. We also enjoyed kayaking and the pedalos as well as a boat trip to Grand Zil island, where we had a delicious BBQ lunch. You can take a short boat ride to a local reef where the snorkelling is incredible, we were even lucky enough to see a turtle! The spa was an amazing experience, again the setting is beautiful, and the treatments are well worth the money. The staff are warm and friendly and really make you feel special on your holiday. A particular mention for the waiting staff in the buffet restaurant who covered the area in front of Tadka, Olanike who served us drinks in the bar each evening, and Rawat who brought us drinks and food on the beach – nothing was ever too much trouble for him. We had 2 interconnecting rooms, both of which were very spacious and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable, and we never tired of sitting on the terrace each morning, looking over the gardens and out to sea. Having the opportunity to stock up on the tea, coffee and other drinks as we needed it is a brilliant idea. We took taxis (arranged through the hotel) on 2 occasions to visit Chamerel in the south of the Island, as well as the capital Port Louis. Both trips were wonderful and would highly recommend. It was fantastic to experience different parts of this beautiful country. Thank you to our taxi driver, Anil, who helped to make it very straightforward and stress free. We feel extremely grateful to have been able to have spent our holiday in such a wonderful and beautiful place and very much hope to return one day. Read less

This was our first stay at Zilwa and first holiday with our baby, but our 9th time to Mauritius, and Zilwa is definitely now our favorite hotel out of the lot! The food was amazing (previous hotels either had bland food, the same food every night or all differentiations of curry only). We also really enjoyed experiencing a different restaurant almost every night. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the awesome entertainment team. We were quite nervous traveling with a 4 month old but our holiday with him at Zilwa was a piece of cake and so so enjoyable and stress free. The spa allowed us to take him in with us our couples massage during his nap which was awesome! Our room was equipped with a cot, changing station and baby bath. The hotel is so big that there is no need to stress about leaving the hotel and traveling around Mauritius with a baby - there are 5 restaurants, so many pools that we didn’t get to swim in all of them, lots of entertainment in the day and night and a little day excursion for a BBQ to the island near by. If you are looking for a hotel to go to with an infant, this is the place to be! Thank you Zilwa for making us feel right at home. We will see you next year! Read less

Wow! Zilwa exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The staff were amazing. Attentive, helpful and lovely. Layout of the beaches and pools means we had so many different areas to sunbathe. Beautiful views and clear blue water. The Gran Zil BBQ was a short 3 minute boat ride away and was the most idyllic little island to explore whilst the lunch was perfection. A little bit of paradise. My don has a severe nut allergy and the staff were fantastic. They always checked for allergies and even the buffet food was labelled with allergens. They made our stay relaxed so we didn’t need to worry so much about his allergy. Our room was a seaview superior. The view was lovely although the balcony was a little dark with one side having a wall extending out. We asked for two rooms next to each other and did get that but was unfortunately not able to get two rooms with adjoining corridor as the end room was already occupied. Our cleaning lady was amazing and did a fantastic job every day. Booking restaurants was easy and the bulk shop was a fantastic way to refill your room without waste. Although limited. Evenings always had a wide variety of entertainment and the young entertainment man who also took the daily aqua gym sessions always had a smile on his face. We loved our stay and would 100% recommend to anyone. Thank you Zilwa Attitude. Read less

We are back home in the UK missing the amazing views and all the kind Mauritian people we met at Zilwa! We are a family of 4, two teens 18 and 15. The hotel I booked was a surprise for my family, as soon as they walked in they were totally blown away by the views!! I will never forget their reactions and don’t think they will either! The hotel staff couldn’t do enough for us we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and son’s 18th birthday. They upgraded us to sea view rooms and made us feel like royalty from the minute we arrived to the time we left! Jovani so glad you are alive (inside joke) and Arvind around the main bar both always took the time to say hello, have a chat and see if we are ok! Nithin’s cocktails oh my god were awesome and all the staff around the bar were so kind & friendly. We ate at Tadka and the Thai restaurant twice, food and staff were amazing. My husband has a gluten allergy they all made sure he was ok and had more than enough to eat. Thank you to the Thai Chef who kept on checking in to see all was ok and Krunal snd Adarsh for changing the booking times for us. I didn’t catch the names of those at Tadka, but again they were so attentive and the food authentic. My favourite night meal wise was at Lor Disab our date night without the kids to celebrate our anniversary, an evening I’ll never forget, food was delicious but again it was the service that made all the difference. Thank you to Arvind the manager and the gentleman who arrived from India 6 months ago. Now going onto the animation team Miguel and Aniket, having two teens I needed a resort with activities, they were both awesome and lots of fun they made a huge difference to our holiday. I’m also going to call out Cederic at the spa, a very warm and kind person! If you’re undecided about booking Zilwa Attitude Hôtel don’t be, honestly the best holiday we have ever. Thank you Zilwa team for all the unforgettable memories we made! Read less
