The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are seven restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

This is the second consecutive year we have visited this hotel, which in itself tells its own story. We are a family of 4 (with children 18 and 15) and we all simply love it here. The food is amazing, with a great variety of a la carte restaurants to choose from outside of the main buffet, all of which are of a very high standard. We particularly enjoy the lunch sandwich restaurant, and also the Grand Zil BBQ which is something a little unique compared to many other places. There are a couple of bars to use during your stay, although during the day drinks can get served to sunbeds which is a welcome touch when you are on holiday. The watersports that are included for free are also fantastic, notably the ability to sail the Hobie Cats as part of your all inclusive package. But what we love most about this hotel and Mauritius in general is the people. The staff are excellent and incredibly warm, friendly and attentive - authentically so. To list them all would be impossible. They are all great! Special mentions however to the following: Niraj and Satyam working the bars. Ashley, likewise for his bar work and amazing cocktails! Olinake for her attentive drinks service, and Vinit for the beach service during the day. Aniket for the entertainment which the kids loved. Last but not least, Lensley. Such a warm guy, who not only provides a great service, but puts a smile on your face each and every day. His enjoyment of his work rubs off on the guests. It was great to understand more about Mauritian culture too. There are many others too who work tirelessly to make your stay enjoyable. They make Zilwa. They make Mauritius. Read less

We have not long arrived home after spending an amazing two weeks at Zilwa Attitude for our honeymoon. This hotel is the best that we have ever stayed in. It is modern, clean and has fantastic facilities. The seven restaurants each offer their own style, but we experienced every single one and loved them all. Lor Disab and Maneo were our favourites! The BBQ beach lunch is also fab and getting to go over to the private island was such an amazing experience. The all-inclusive package is fantastic and the best that we have experienced abroad. There are so many drinks included and we didn't have to spend a penny extra during the two weeks holiday. The staff are great at letting you know if you accidentally choose something that is supplemented. The water sport facilities are great at no extra charge, as was the tennis court which we used twice. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the spa, but I can imagine that it is also brilliant. The pools are great and immaculate, but very cold. This didn't put us off too much, but definitely one to consider. The aqua gym every morning is also great, the instructor was brilliant. The hotel beach is lovely, with plenty of seating. The only thing that put us off going there often were the on-beach sellers. They are affiliated with the hotel so allowed to be there, however they became a little bit of a nuisance (particularly Big John, who I would advise to be cautious of his selling techniques and prices). However it wasn't a big negative and was also great to be able to use the hotels beach towels (and get them replaced regularly). We stayed in room 2323 which was a lovely room with fantastic views from the balcony. A simple room, but was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. We could hear quite a lot of noise from other rooms / outside in the corridors, but again this wasn't a major issue and only during the day. The room was cleaned and tidied every day, we can't fault the housekeeping staff. Towels were changed when we left them on the floor and the bed was made most days. Towards the end of our holiday we did have to speak to someone as we kept getting missed with being given toilet rolls, but this was sorted promptly when raised. As was an issue we had with the fan not working properly - we couldn't believe a maintenance man came to fix it within 10 minutes, at 10.30pm! Fantastic. The main thing for us which made the holiday (aside from the beautiful views, amazing hotel etc), were the staff. Everyone we met was so lovely, welcoming and attentive. They couldn't do enough for you and wanted you to have the best experience. From the housekeeping staff, to reception / guest experiences, restaurant staff, bar men / waiters and waitresses and beach towel staff, everyone was fantastic. Service was quick wherever we were and made us feel at home. A big special shout-out from us goes to Harsh and Harsha, two of the bar waiting staff at the main bar. Throughout our holiday they welcomed us with a friendly smile and quickly learnt our room number and favourite drinks. They would occasionally make us special drinks without asking and always made sure that we had a drink in front of us. We loved getting to know them and thank them for looking after us - please pass the message on. I would highly recommend Zilwa Attitude to anyone looking for the perfect hotel in Mauritius - you won't be disappointed. Read less

We stayed here for 10 days at the end of July 2025. It was raining when we arrived so we were a bit concerned but the remainder of the holiday weather was lovely. Temperatures hovered around 24 degrees and the evenings were around 18. Room Lovely and spacious with a decent sized fridges. The shower was great and space in the bathroom was abundant. Sunita kept our room spotless. Balcony Watching the sunset from the balcony each night was amazing. Restaurants We made bookings via email before we arrived. Our favourite was the Thai Manao. Buffet restaurant was very good with very little processed food. Lor Disab for lunch was our favourite in the resort. Shout out to Zafra who always made us feel welcome. The beach barbecue on Grand Zil was also amazing. Pools. The two pools closest to the main part of the hotel were very cold but fine once you were in. The pool nearest Lor Disab was better but still a bit nippy but lovely once you were in and the sun was shining. Main Bar Special shout out to Olinake who served us drinks every night we were at the resort. Such a lovely member of staff who made our holiday very special. Beaches and Watersports etc The beaches are lovely and we did paddle boats, snorkelling and the glass bottom boat - all of which we would recommend. Read less
