The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are seven restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

Big thank you to everyone at the beach restaurant Lor Disab which was our favourite. Azagen and all his team were absolutely amazing. Always willing to go the extra mile for us which really made our experience. The bbq on the private island is absolutely amazing too. The food was 10/10 every time and is a lovely little change of scenery. We booked the five island trip and we done it with Bhai Vijay Victor Persand. He works for the hotel as a taxi service but also does trips. This was by far our favourite day it was amazing. Is a must do! Read less

Traveling with my son, who uses a wheelchair, is often challenging, but the staff's kindness made it seamless. Special thanks to Jovany, also a waiter who was in the team of Jovany who hrlp to prepare the food for my son and prepare our table,Dylan, Nasreen (or Tasreen), and an exceptional young waiter at Siro Kane for going above and beyond. Their genuine care made my son feel like a VIP. Warm thanks also to the helpful luggage assistant and friendly waitress near Tadka. As a member of Cerebral Family, I wholeheartedly recommend Zilwa as an inclusive, welcoming destination for all families. Read less

This place is exceptional. From the minute we walked in until the very last minute when we left it wowed us on every level from the facilities, the food and most of all the outstanding service. Our room was absolutely stunning, the bed was so comfortable. Great shower and you literally could not beat the view. Our Housekeeper, Solenee made sure our room was spotless and added special little touches that were really sweet. The food - every single restaurant serves top quality food, packed full of flavour. Special mention to Sachi and the team at Lor Disab. This was our favourite place for lunch and dinner. Delicious! The hotel's approach to zero waste is fantastic. They have so many processes in place including the bulk shop where you are able to restock your mini bar without wasting any packaging. The glass water bottle return system drastically reduces plastic waste. We encountered Attifah at the bulk shop a few times and she was so lovely. The bar team at both bars work so hard and impress every time. Avish and Satyam make some of the most delicious cocktails! Finally the activities available are plenty - you will not struggle to fill your day. Whether it be going out on the glass bottom boat, or kayaking in the lagoon the team are there to make sure you're not bored. If you can, I highly recommend getting a treatment from the POZ Spa - the most peaceful and relaxing experience. We were looked after by Neena and Pooja who truly know how to get rid of any aches and pains! What can I say except when can I go back? Read less

After a lot of research on resorts around the island we settled on Zilwa and boy am I glad we did. The property is absolutely stunning and very well maintained. Our room was perfectly located on the farther end of the hotel and we did not have any noise issues. The beaches are great and although beach shoes are recommended I managed a swim or 2 without any hassle. Now what makes this place really special is the staff - have honestly not had service like that before. During the course of the stay a handful definitely stood out and would remember our eating/ drinking preferences and always served with a solid smile. Bar wise some of the tenders that need mentioned are Durshun, Niraj, Kulpy and Harsha. Between the 2 idyllic bars we had some of the best cocktails and nothing was too much trouble. They really put time and effort into their service and this has left a lasting impression. All meals were superb and especially loved the excellent buffet breakfasts which were very well waited by Ashley and team. This was indeed a dream holiday and am already looing forward to going back asap! Read less
