Fairmont Ajman

Ajman, United Arab Emirates

Star rating

The hotel

Fairmont’s fabulous outpost in Ajman, this luxury beachfront retreat brings all the glamorous décor, gourmet dining, and grand amenities you’d expect from a Fairmont — in a setting you might not expect in the UAE. The next big name in the emirates, Ajman may be 30 minutes from Dubai, but it’s poles apart in its subtlety and serenity. The Fairmont’s arrival to its palm-swept beachline signals Ajman’s ready to compete with its neighbours. A grand getaway, it brings eight restaurants and lounges (taking you from Italy to the Caribbean), an infinity pool fringing a private stretch of sand, and an activity list that covers everyone in the family, from those after spa treatments to those who’d prefer splashing about on a floating off-shore water park (and even little guests who’d prefer making sandcastles at their kids’ club).

Many thought we were mad holidaying in the UAE in July but we didn’t listen and we are thankful we didn’t as we had an amazing time from start to finish! The hotel offers the best opportunity to relax. The staff are absolutely amazing and work really hard to make everyone’s stay there amazing. A special thanks but not limited to Rachel, Jude, Farid, Hidroy, Yi, Bruno, Babitha, Yoon, Paballo, Yoused, Yoon and Kennedy. Not forgetting Imran for keeping our room clean and ride. We stayed all inc and was more than happy with the all inc choices. My son has a nut allergy and for the first few days, the chef would escort him around the restaurant explaining the symbols and advising what he could and couldn’t eat. We never used the Italian or Turkish restaurants mainly because the choice in the main restaurant was always sufficient and varied. We used the shuttle to the Dubai mall which is offered daily. We also noted that there was a free shuttle to Abu Dhabi but didn’t use this. WhatsApp voice calls are barred in the UAE but you can download a VPN and then make calls, if you need to. It was hot as you would expect but the air conditioning in the hotel and in the rooms was amazing. We are already looking to return. Read less

Our first stay at Fairmont Ajman. It is in a lovely setting by its own private beach which was immaculately clean from seaweed after the staff cleaned any in the morning. You could just walk in and swim in the lovely warm sea. The pool area tended to be busier than the beach area, with many relaxing round the swim up bar. The room was of excellent standard with big bathroom and bath. The balcony was nice to be able to sit out later at night. Tea, coffee and plenty of bottled water left in the room. Thanks to Nayem for looking after our room and anything we needed. Being half board we used the main buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Food was of good quality but for the dinner there were a lot of Indian and dishes aimed for the Russian guests. They do swap over the choices each night so always found something to our taste. Thank you to a number of the servers who are happy to assist with any requests inc Susmita, Shein, Yousef, Brund, Shihad, Prarthana and Bhagya. Within a few minutes walk on the main corniche their are a number of shops, restaurants, hotels and supermarkets and the marina. Further into the city you have the main local life, coffee shops, barbers, shisha bars, gold souq, bigger shops and museum. Unfortunately we had reason to contact a Dr whilst staying at the hotel, which management helped with. A big thank you to them for being helpful and compasionate at that time, plus sending a bowl of fruit and bouquet of flowers to wish a speedy recovery. It was a nice touch from Basem and the team, thank you. I think what stands out for us from our visit is the hospitality of staff in all departments. A quick mention to the consierge staff who I spoke with on numerous occasions about the local area. Fairmont is a place we would like to return as it was a place you could go for R&R rather than the hussle and bussle of the city. I think I would take a taxi there in future rather than self drive as the journey was stressful from Dubai airport even with GPS. Read less

Perfect holiday! Amazing beach facilities – spacious and comfortable sunbeds, large parasols, plenty of room between loungers, and a towel exchange service that’s available all day. The food is excellent – delicious Indian cuisine, authentic Arabian dishes, exquisite desserts, and fresh fruits like watermelon, grapes, apples, pineapple, and melon. The coffee machines are top-notch, and the chocolate fountain deserves a special mention! Cocktails are expertly mixed using high-quality alcohol. The interior design is impressive, the rooms lovely with beds so soft they feel like giant marshmallows. The soundproofing is outstanding, and the air conditioning works perfectly – a blessing in hot weather. Yet the real highlight is the staff – always professional, friendly, and genuinely caring. A heartfelt thank-you to Svetlana, the super-professional guest relations manager, and to our singer - beautiful and talented Jessica from Colombia. We’ll definitely be coming back next year!
