Disappointing

This is our 3rd stay at ABR, we have stayed at various hotels during this trip and we kept this one until last as it has always been our favourite.
We booked the Unique Privileges package, this is something new the hotel is offering where you have breakfast, a buffet lunch and evening cocktails/drinks and canapés at Zeta 77 or The Beach Grill. I was most excited for the canapés/cocktails at Zeta 77 as those views from the 77th floor are just incredible.
The package is described as ‘uninterrupted views from Zeta 77’ which could not be more wrong! We couldn’t even get out of the lift at floor 77 as it was incredibly busy with drunk guests dancing in the waiting area. We eventually got escorted to our table and I couldn’t hear the waiter nor could they hear me because the music was so loud. Drunk people smoking, dancing and pushing into us on the way to our table, just the worst experience and far from what I was expecting. We sat at the table for less than 2 minutes and just had to leave, it felt like I’d been transported to a beach club party over at Five Palm which is definitely not the vibe that the hotel once had.
A few weeks before the visit I emailed the hotel to make sure the infinity pool was still exclusive to hotel guests which they informed me that it was, hence the reason for booking. If I had of known prior to booking that it no longer wasn’t then I would of definitely not have booked to stay as this vibe just isn’t for us- why would I pay a high price to stay here when I could just buy a day pass after all? We visited the infinity pool- just stayed for 1 hour as it was again so busy with day guests and it was just filthy, clearly had not been cleaned from the night before, food and drinks on the floor, not the kind of look I would expect from the tallest infinity pool in the world.
I approached reception and spoke to 2 lovely ladies, they were very apologetic and understanding and allowed us to change to a half board package on our second day although still wasn’t what we originally booked. We visited Li Brasil for dinner and had Karen looking after us, her service was the best I have experienced in the hotel on this stay and would love to praise her as she made our last night much more enjoyable than the rest of the stay.
I have written an email FAO the hotel manager as feedback about the unique privileges as they had asked for this on arrival, but I have not had a response. We wouldn’t return as what was once our favourite hotel to come and relax at in Dubai has now gone to the bottom of the pile- if you want a party atmosphere then this is the hotel for you but unfortunately not for us anymore.
