Another enjoyable family holiday at Dar al Masyaf. We have been going for many years and still think it’s the best family hotel in Dubai. Sultan looked after us all really well around the pool and interacted really well with the kids. We will be back again next year. Read less

We have stayed on a number of occasions and its not the same, the service has lost the feel of being personable, the onus is on the customer to source the service which when paying a lot of money to stay in a suite is not what I would expect. Lost count of how many times I had to give the suite number at the Palace lounge entrance and having to wait whilst staff check if we are allowed in, not luxury in the slightest; previous visits the staff would remember you. Security staff seem to let people wander around, I have noticed in the past that I would need to show my room key to access hotel areas, but not anymore, people wandering around the resort lost trying to find restaurants (Pierchic) and having to show them where to go. Waiting long periods for buggies when you are on holiday is not what I want to do, especially in the heat; I would call to organise and then wait and then I would give up and walk. Power cut prevented us from accessing our suite (Villa 8) and having to go away until it is resolved, again, not a luxury feel. Very little in the room to welcome us back, previously a card was provided; didn’t feel like they appreciated the repeat custom. Resort is showing signs of wear and tear externally around the villas and the pool tiles at Al Qasr pool are unsightly and again not luxury. I am disappointed to see the changes that keep happening to lessen the experience whilst the price keeps increasing. Read less

We know this hotel from before and had a great experience last time, which makes it even sadder to write the following. Please note this is only our personal experience. We booked a large beach-front suite, with direct beach access being the main reason for choosing this category. Arrival and reception were wonderful – very professional and welcoming, and the room itself was spotless. At first, everything seemed perfect. However, looking out from the balcony, we were shocked to see that the entire beach in front of our villa was closed, with construction going on. This was not mentioned anywhere during booking. For us, the main feature we booked and paid for simply did not exist. After raising this with the hotel, the answer was only an apology and the information that there were no alternatives available. We were left with no choice but to check out. The manager’s handling of the situation felt far below what we would expect from a Jumeirah-level hotel. We did not feel that our concerns were truly understood or taken seriously. We booked this specific category for a very special reason, and in the end, we got nothing of what was promised. The disappointment was huge. Read less
