We have just returned from the most incredible stay at Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa, Dubai, and it is difficult to put into words just how much this holiday meant to our family.
Our son Jack has Duchenne muscular dystrophy and is a full-time wheelchair user. We travelled to Dubai to celebrate two huge milestones – his 18th birthday and getting into university. Our original trip had sadly been cancelled due to the conflict, so finally being able to make this journey together made it even more special.
As parents, seeing Jack smile and laugh so much throughout this holiday meant more to us than we could ever express.
From before we even arrived, the hotel was exceptional. Communication was excellent, and a special thank you to Wessam, who organised a People of Determination vehicle for us. Travelling with a wheelchair can bring additional challenges, and having this arranged made such a difference.
Our welcome at the hotel was wonderful. The decorations and treats waiting in our room for Jack’s 18th birthday were amazing and made him feel incredibly special from the moment we arrived.
The Club Lounge and Butler team were outstanding. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they were always there to help us and Jack. He also became a big fan of their virgin piña coladas!
The team at Brasserie 2.0 were fantastic. Seeing the staff singing Happy Birthday to Jack was such a heartwarming moment. They even accommodated a special request for Thai food, and the chicken Thai green curry was honestly the best we have ever tasted.
We were particularly touched by the pool team. When Jack went swimming, they put a towel over his wheelchair so it wouldn’t be wet when he got out. They always helped us find suitable sunbeds and even offered to arrange a beach wheelchair so Jack could go into the sea. These may sound like small gestures, but when you have a family member who uses a wheelchair, this kind of thoughtfulness, awareness and inclusion means everything.
The restaurants were also exceptional. Maya was fantastic – we loved the prawn tacos and steak fajitas. At Rhodes W1, Jack declared the burger the best he had ever eaten! The restaurant is beautiful and elegant, and the whole experience felt incredibly special.
Indya by Vineet was another highlight. The butter chicken, chicken tikka and naan breads were absolutely incredible – genuinely the best butter chicken we have ever had.
But what truly sets Le Royal Méridien apart is the people.
Everywhere we went, we were greeted with a smile. Every member of staff we encountered was thoughtful, kind and genuinely caring. The little acts of kindness shown towards Jack throughout our stay meant more to our family than the staff will probably ever realise.
A very special thank you to Mr Manjith and the entire management team. The exceptional level of service, kindness and hospitality throughout this hotel clearly comes from the top and is reflected by the whole team.
This hotel didn’t simply give us a five-star holiday. It gave us precious memories of our son celebrating his 18th birthday, his university achievement, smiling, laughing and enjoying life.
Those memories are priceless, and we will treasure them forever.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone at Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa. ❤️
Perhaps the greatest recommendation we can give is that we are already coming back!
An exceptional hotel, exceptional people and memories that will last our family a lifetime. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
