We have been fortunate enough to come to OTP four times now, and with many hotels/ restaurants, the cracks would start to appear. But let me assure you that the OTP has not failed in any area ever since we first arrived.
You are assigned a host who greets you upon arrival and is available whenever you need them. Having been before we asked for Andrew. Having been with The One&Only for 15 years I feel it should be re named The One&Andrew. He was our host but I see him more as a friend, like many of the staff. He comes to see you daily either at breakfast or the pool, to catch up, see what your plans are, where he can help, what he can book up. Never in your face which we have experienced at Six Senses. Friendly courteous polite. As I say, a friend!
The maintenance of the hotel is first class, everything has its place and is spotless. Grass is cut when you think it is already like a bowling green, sand swept where you cannot even see a shell, used towel bins emptied in toilet areas it seems every 10 minutes. These and lots of different things going on in the background which maybe go unnoticed, but guaranteed someone would complain if they didn’t happen. Rahul Sharma the GM has a fabulous team here. He is also approachable and will spend time to talk to you if you wish. He isn’t sat in an office and letting his staff deal with daily situations and that says a lot about him and the way the staff are.
Every member of staff always says hello or good morning/ evening. Everyone seems happy and content in the work, striving to achieve yet never angling for a good word, tip or anything like that. Happy to talk but also aware that you are on holiday and happy to serve.
We had an instance where my step son woke with a headache and a high temperature. I spoke to Arshid on the front desk who immediately got hold of the paramedic and within 15 minutes she was at his bedside confirming a fever and ordering pills to help. Even offering to take him to a doctor. The level of service from Arshid in the first instance and then the paramedic was ridiculously high. Obviously you do not expect to need medical attention but I’m not sure that you would get this in many other places.
Up at the adult pool we met another of our friends Ashen under the guidance of Rose (Rosio). Fresh cold water whilst at the pool, beds made, umbrella up and down whenever, fruit skewers, smoothie tasters. Nothing too much, great people and again, a friend too.
Priority to dinner we visited the lounge for drinks and cocktails, inside or outside, never an issue for the staff. Heaters set up when you feel cold during ‘winter’. Lovely chat with Fay, really lovely lady and tended to our needs daily. Sorry not alcoholics but nice to start the evening with a cocktail.
Breakfast and dinner was always a pleasure. 101 and Zest our personal favourites. A big thank you to Mr Hassan and Mr Alberto along with the ever smiling Charu, Tre and eahjea (EJ). Always there to help, always making your day start or end on a good note. Lovely to see staff and friends from holidays before, showing their commitment to OTP. I hope all of them continue to do well and get any promotions when available. Finally I would like to highlight our housekeeping lady, Maria. Our room was always kept spotless. Always knocking and presenting herself if she thought we may be in our room. Always coming back for turn down at a time to suit us not her. Amazing woman. Probably like all of housekeeping but she was our lady so I wanted to high light her.
There is so much to like about OTP and very very little not to like! There is only one thing I can mention which is that it is difficult to get a plug inserted under the mirror in the dressing room though Andrew had no issues, just us! That is how little there is too fault, a plug!!
Thank you again to everyone who makes our holidays so special. God willing we will see you again soon. Enjoy
