A Wonderful Family Holiday – Exceptional Staff
We recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island as a large family group, and overall we had a fantastic holiday.
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. The receptionist who checked us in was friendly, cheerful and helpful. Although the check-in process took a little longer than expected, her welcoming attitude made a positive first impression.
Our room was located a little way from the main building, but we were taken to our room by golf buggy, which the children absolutely loved! The buggy driver was also incredibly friendly and welcoming, and it was a great start to our stay.
The hotel itself is beautiful and has plenty of facilities for families. Like any large resort, there are areas that could do with some maintenance and repairs, but what impressed me was that during our stay we could actually see workers carrying out repairs and improvements. This gave us the impression that the hotel genuinely cares about maintaining the resort and keeping it looking its best.
Excellent Cleanliness
I was also very impressed with the cleanliness throughout the resort. Our room was cleaned to an excellent standard and was always presented beautifully. The same level of cleanliness could be seen throughout the resort, with the public areas being well maintained and kept tidy.
The restaurant was also consistently clean and well organised. Tables were kept tidy, and plates, glasses and cutlery were always clean. This may seem like a small detail, but when travelling as a large family group, it makes a big difference and gave us confidence that the hotel takes hygiene and cleanliness seriously.
Pools, Beach & Relaxation
Another big positive was the choice of pools. There were plenty of pools to choose from, so you could always find one that suited your mood. Whether you wanted somewhere lively and full of atmosphere or somewhere a little more relaxed, there was a good choice available.
There was also always plenty of space around the pools, so we never felt overcrowded or struggled to find somewhere to relax.
If you didn't fancy spending time around the pool, you could simply head down to the beach and enjoy the sea. The beach was also never overly crowded, which made it a lovely alternative and gave us the chance to relax without feeling like we were surrounded by too many people.
The bar staff were another positive. They were always friendly, welcoming and happy to serve you with a smile. Their attitude really added to the relaxed holiday atmosphere.
Food & Vegetarian Options
One of the biggest positives for our family was the food and, more importantly, the willingness of the staff to accommodate us. Our entire family are vegetarian, and when we requested some additional vegetarian options, the chef certainly did not disappoint. There was a good variety of food available, and the team were always happy to help with anything we needed.
The staff really were the highlight of our stay. They consistently went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. They would regularly ask if there was anything else they could do for us and whether everything was satisfactory. It was clear that they genuinely cared about our experience and wanted to make our holiday as enjoyable as possible.
There were several members of staff who particularly stood out and who went the extra mile to make our stay memorable: Sabil, Dhania, Venkata, Blessing, Padam, Kamrul, Mandhar, Nan, Anil, Subin, Heshan and Diya.
There were many other members of the team who were equally helpful and friendly, but unfortunately I didn't manage to get everyone's names. To every member of staff who looked after our family during our stay, thank you.
You all played a huge part in making our family holiday so enjoyable and memorable. Your kindness, friendliness and willingness to go the extra mile did not go unnoticed.
For us, the staff would definitely be one of the main reasons we would consider returning to the DoubleTree by Hilton Marjan Island. A hotel can have beautiful rooms and fantastic facilities, but it is the people who work there who can really make a holiday special – and the staff at this resort certainly did that for our family.
