We have just returned from just over a weeks stay here.
Our room was lovely, really big shower and massive terrace, although we couldn’t use the terrace as it was so hot, not the hotels fault. When we did step out on to the terrace we came back in with black feet, so that is definitely not swept. Draws were clunky and mini bar wasn’t cold and had the basics of basics in there, we didn’t use it. Bed was super comfy and the bedding was so soft, probably the best bed I’ve stayed in.
The makeshift buffet whilst the main restaurant is being refurbished is horrible. It’s a conference centre with carpet, there’s no windows so you feel like you’re in a box. Kids running free all over the place, one girl drinking soup from the ladle on the buffet and then putting it back. It’s like a cattle market. People filling plates of food and not eating it, so much waste. Al a carte restaurants are nice, theres no adult only ones and often had screaming children in them. People over ordering ridiculous amounts of food. Staff in all restaurants are running around like crazy and are so kind and polite, I actually felt sorry for them with 90% of the guests rude and abrupt.
The adult pool, was the only 16+ area, but may as well have been a kids area. Members queuing at the bar 9:50 for 10 opening, just to drink straight vodka and tequila so by lunch they are dive bombing in the pool, shouting, shoving each other and one day the pool was shut because one extremely drunk girl either dropped food in the pool or threw up, we never found out. Smoking was not permitted on the sun loungers but guest chain smoked on them.
Cocktails are well made and delicious, blush mojito being my fave drink of the holiday.
We paid for 2 massages each, the guy selling them to us promised they’d be the best of our lives or our money back. First massage great, we had a fab experience, 2nd massage, the girl was on her phone, I felt it vibrate on my feet 3 times, then she put it next to my head with a towel between me and her phone on the bed and it vibrated in my ear. I told the guy that sold them to us and absolutely nothing was done about it.
90% of guests here are rude, push in, never say please or thank you, shout orders at the bar staff and treat them awfully. They have no spatial awareness, whether that’s jumping near your head in the pool, or walking in groups and not allowing you space to pass and walking at you.
The beach is ok, the sea very warm, but there’s no scenery as it’s full of cranes and building works absolutely everywhere.
The staff can’t do enough for you and it’s the staff and the cocktails that made this holiday worth while. As for the other guests, shame on them.
