Firstly, the hotel staff. From the bar staff, to the buffet restaurant , and the reception staff. 10 out of 10. No! really. Big shout out to our room cleaning assistant, Masud. Brilliant.
Hilton Group - pay your guys more please.
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner : One of us is vegetarian, but to be honest the food is very varied. In fact we ate out in the two (paying venues at the hotel, and you get 20% discount if you are staying at Hamton). The food overall was great, as were the fantastic staff.
The buffet hall has an adults section, and believe us, this was great. It was busy in this section. Lots of young children. Not complaining, but if you want a quiet holiday, maybe not for you, (couples).
Pool: Very busy, limited space and sunbeds. Young children section, so you know the score. Wonderful bar and pool staff.
Beach: Limited sunbeds, but where we spent much of our time outdoors.
The bar/trailer beach service has long queues but it's not a biggie. Perhaps a proper bar with more staff? It's very hot and you stand in a queue in the heat for over 10 minutes.
Things to do: Excursions to buy are in the reception.
Excursions,( available in the hotel lobby), to the Burj and boat and mall. Also a desert safari with dinner and show. When you go to the desert safari, DON'T purchase the scarves they place on you. You'll be in a vehicle driving through the dunes so no need. Just tell the gentleman, (he will ask you which colour of scarf you want). Its not a H&S requirement. Just tell him you have no money. Daily coach rides, (free), to the local mall. It was busy here so there was a two day waiting list.
Other then that, unless you take a Dubai intown trip, by taxi ( over one hour), or you visit the two in house paying venues, there is not much to do. There is an in-house cabaret most evenings, if that's your thing. We liked the music at Claw Bar and Karma Cafe,(Budha Bar). You have to pay for drinks there,(20% discount if staying at the Hampton).
This part of Dubai is still under construction, and there is serious building work here, including next door with loads of hotel resorts under construction. In five years, this area of Dubai will be unrecognisable.
