The hotel

Warm and welcoming, this hotel is a haven surrounded by 500 acres of natural beauty and serenity. Rooms are richly furnished in French Provencal décor with floor-to-ceiling windows and every amenity you need to ensure your comfort. Just 10 miles away is the Arizona Snowbowl – a year-round recreational area made from the pine-topped lava flows and cinder cones of an extinct volcano in Arizona’s San Francisco Peaks. Here you can downhill, cross country ski and snowshoe to your hearts content. The Grand Canyon is also within easy striking distance as are many other natural desert wonders. After seeing the sights, relax during the evening at the Silver Pine Restaurant, serving chicken, steaks and their speciality, prime ribs. The bar is the perfect place to end the evening over an Arizona Fashioned, reflecting on all you’ve done and have yet to do!

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Don't believe the hype - it's not worth the money

Not worth the hype and the price. If you want to spend $250/night for a room with peeling wallpaper, filthy and disgusting lampshades, have your food in the room cooler frozen solid, then this is the place for you. I spoke to the front desk and completed a survey and have heard zip from the management. An apology would be nice. But then, if… Read more

But then, if they dont care about the wallpaper peeling off the walls why would they care about me? I'm just one review that will be buried under other reviews. We travel a lot. Never have I spent so much and received so little. Read less

Stayed here on two occasions in June and overall impression is it's a nice resort type hotel in terms of room and facilities but service could use improvement. We had a standard queen room both times and it's spacious, bathroom has two sinks one in and one out so yconvenient for two people sharing. The pool is a roundish shape but large enough to swim some laps when there aren't a lot of children there. There are four 2 level inter connected buildings and #4 being the furthest away from the lobby - you can park your car (parking is free) close to any building but it's a bit of a walk on foot. Location is a bit out of town not walking distance to downtown Flagstaff. Rating it a 3 star due to service. On a day when they don't seem to be full they still wouldn't accommodate a late check out by just an hour (at noon instead of 11 am) which I didn't think would have made any difference to them but would have made a huge one for us. Then there is the breakfast. Nice dining room and all, but service was slow and the food came lukewarm, this at a time when it was early and hardly anyone in the dining room. And in addition to that, I had tea and it came in a tea pot with one weak tea bag, and as I like my tea strong I asked for another tea bag in the same pot and was told I'd be charged a second pot of tea ($5). This kind of stinginess just doesn't befit the seeming stature of such a hotel. And finally, the teacup they gave me had a long crack in it - I discovered it when i saw the saucer filing up with tea and didn't think I spilled any in it. The crack was old and stained, not a new one, so it was shocking that no staff had noticed it for this long and cared enough to not continue using it. Let's just say I'd never encountered broken cups like this in lesser priced motels. For this trip to Flagstaff I also had a two-night stay in another hotel downtown and other than the swimming pool, it was much better value and more comfortable with more helpful staff - and no broken tea cups! I used to love Little America. I’m in my late thirties and I’ve been staying at this hotel for over 3 decades. We’ve always had a great experience, however the last two times (most recently 6/16/25) we’ve had absolutely filthy rooms. We used to choose Little America because there was a standard and we were happy to pay for a pricier stay for the nostalgia and the peace of mind knowing our rooms were clean and safe for children. However, our last two stays have been nothing short of disgusting with a price tag of $250 a night. It’s extremely disappointing. I found stains on the supposedly clean sheets, pills, moldy fruit, unidentifiable debris, bloody bandaids, dirt, toys, crumbs and more. If you decide to stay be sure to check your rooms and beds because it doesn’t seem like they pay attention to anything besides surface level clean any more. Read less
