“Stolen Designer Purse”
Dec 03, 2025Allison M
Stayed at the JW for a wedding over the weekend. The experience and the hotel were beautiful until we checked out. I had discovered that my designer evening bag was missing after we had checked out. I called the hotel 1 hour after checking out when I realized I didn't have it, and I asked to involve management and housekeeping, but they put me into an "online" system, and it took months to resolve. Marriott legal eventually got involved, and I had to file a police report with the Tucson Police Department for a stolen purse. It was either left behind by mistake on my end and picked up by housekeeping, or it was taken at some point during my weekend stay. It was brand new and in the duster bag that it came with. Very disappointing, as they treated it like a simple item and disregarded my urgency. This was a $3,000 bag, not a $5.00 hairbrush.
“Terrible service bad food”
Nov 27, 2025Nomad54705721309
We recently read an article in Tucson golf magazine about the restaurant at star pass and how it was a must stop destination in Tucson. Some booked a round of golf with plans to have dinner after. The golf course was amazing but the restaurant was a huge disappointment. The service was terrible with taking 15 minutes to just get water. There were only 3 tables with people and the staff members were all visiting each other at the bar. When we finally got water I asked for a craft as we were thirsty from golfing. The waiter never came back. So we moved inside to sit at the bar hoping for better service. But no one at this point was behind the bar. I walked and got my own craft of water. When the food came out the tacos were cold and greasy. The wedge salad was good. We sent back the tacos and got the wagu burger which was good. Such a disappointment after reading the article in the magazine but mostly the service was absolutely terrible!!
“Spectacular desert setting and "one-stop-shop" resort”
Oct 21, 2025mike g
Stayed 3 nights in mid October 2025 and enjoyed the incredible setting, natural beauty, service and "one-stop-shop" convenience of the JW Marriott Starrpass. In 3 nights and 3.5 days we did multiple hikes just minutes from the lobby, played golf, used the gym/spa, lazy river, pools, hot tubs, and ate at 4 of the restaurants (Creosote - new golf course restaurant, Signature Grill, Plunge, and the Lobby/Veranda restaurant (spectacular views). All of them were excellent, service was great, and prices were reasonable. The way the resort is oriented within the Sonoran Desert means you have an incredible view from almost anywhere. We will definitely be back. One final point is that there impressive and extensive remodel going on for the rest of 2025 doesn't impede the current experience for guests.
