“Yikes!”

If you’re a big fan of conferences taking over every square inch of a resort, you’ll love it here. Nothing says “relaxing getaway” like being swallowed by name badges and breakout sessions. Food is… fine, if your standards are low. The breakfast buffet, though, deserves special recognition for being one of the saddest I’ve ever seen at a property pretending to be a luxury resort. Truly bleak. The pool experience is also a masterclass in frustration. Want shade? Too bad. Umbrellas are locked in place, so unless you got lucky with positioning, enjoy roasting in the desert sun like it’s part of the amenities package. Rooms are “recently refurbished,” which I assume means they slapped some updates onto something that still feels like the worst apartment you toured in your early 20s. Cheap finishes, nothing thoughtful, and no minibar — because apparently that’s optional now at a JW. The entire property feels tired and worn down. Calling this a JW Marriott is generous. This is a Courtyard on its best day. We genuinely wish we had stayed anywhere else.

“Run from here! Worst hotel experience I have EVER had”

We checked into this hotel after a very long travel day. After getting my kids settled I decided to shower to decompress and NO HOT WATER. I had to call down several times to get someone to help. When engineering came up they said the entire redone area experienced numerous problems and the room below us was having the same issue. So the hotel was aware they booked our suite where there was a massive issue. I called back down to rhe front desk - I was offered a lessor room - 2 queens when I had a suite - or a room somewhere in the hotel to use for showers. When I said this was not acceptable LAURA (who claimed to be the manager but was not) hung up on me. We left the hotel 4 hours after checking in and had to secure booking elsewhere. DO NOT STAY HERE

I've stayed here 4 times, and this resort has been a highlight of visiting Tucson. Their fitness center is top notch in both equipment and views of the gorgeous desert scenery. Resort is located steps away from scenic hiking trails with enormous cactii. Love their patio views looking far out, down to the twinkling lights of downtown Tucson. The patio and its firepits really shine at their nightly free tequila toast ceremony. Their Italian restarante Passagio has outstanding food and wine quality. Pools were filled to the brim with children, so I didn't try them. Con: get ready for a very long walk to parking garage. I've been having trouble booking the federal government rate through Concur instead of directly through the Marriott website. Unfortunately, we can only use Concur for reservations now. Shows as Unavailable in Concur exen when available for fed govt rate on the Marriott website. Please try to fix, so you can get more business! Thanks
