We recently had another exceptional stay at this hotel. They work hard to provide service that one expects at a 5 Star Hotel. From arrival to departure, every member of the staff we had the opportunity to deal with was welcoming and helpful. Our request for a specific room was honored, and we were checked in prior to the official check-in time. The room was immaculately clean, the linens fine and especially welcome was the fact that the a/c was very quiet- not something one can take for granted, even at a 5 Star hotel. Brunch at Contessa on the rooftop was a great experience. (The breakfast, not so much. Well, it can't always be perfect I suppose.) We used to stay at The Newbury because we were visiting Boston. Now, staying at The Newbury is part of the reason for visiting Boston. We already have our next visit booked and are looking forward to it.

The Newbury Boston was exceptional in every way. From the location next to Boston Commons and the views of Boston to the beautifully appointed, and spacious rooms plus luxurious bedding and towels, we loved our stay! The Street Bar offered a classy old school atmosphere with delicious food and La Contessa restaurant on the top floor was especially gorgeous and both offered excellent service. Terrible financial management & lack of communications

As much as the arrival was easy & smooth, except that the whole experience turned down due to their repeatedly financial issues and mistakes.
Despite the efforts to communicate with the hotel staff, they always are late in replies.
In room service is very expensive, specially the laundry.

Despite the efforts to communicate with the hotel staff, they always are late in replies.
In room service is very expensive, specially the laundry.
No complementary breakfast.
They don't clarify their charges and you have to argue at the check-out, such as luggage service.
They authorized the payment for the whole stay. However, when they withdraw the amount, they took a portion of it and they attempt to take the remaining balance a double payment without waiting for previously authorized amount to return to my bank account.
After check out by 2-3 days, they with draw again an unjustified amount, even after settling the invoice.
Emails have been sent and no response.
Any hotel that doesn't give assurances and clarity to the customers is not a place a to visit.

Our stay at this hotel was a major letdown. The service was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced! slow, unorganized, and unprofessional. Essential services like the concierge and guest service were poorly handled, with no sense of consistency or care.
To make things worse, we were hit with several unexpected charges, including being charged twice for parking.
I’ve tried following up to resolve these issues, but no one seems willing to take responsibility.
This hotel did not live up to its five-star label at all. The experience was frustrating from start to finish, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for quality service or transparency.
