This place is meh. Nothing special or interesting and for a similar price or cheaper, you can easily find a nicer hotel. Especially considering all the hidden fees when booking. Expect to pay about 20% more than what your booking says. The first day I arrived I clarified with the hotel front desk staff on how the destination fee is charged. I was… Read more

Expect to pay about 20% more than what your booking says. The first day I arrived I clarified with the hotel front desk staff on how the destination fee is charged. I was told that this fee was already factored in the total price that I was given when making the initial booking and I asked for a calculation of the total cost. The calculated number was the same as I was given when booking, but when I received my final bill, it seems the front desk staff completely lied about this. Don’t recommend this place, but I do recommend the Kimpton Marlowe in Cambridge, hotel price was similar with much better amenities, transparency about costs, and staff who are properly trained and informed. I've stayed in countless hotels, and I've had a couple of fire alarm incidences....but I've never had a fire alarm go off at 2am two nights in a row....and have the hotel be so unapologetic. The first night the fire alarm went off at 2am, I thought to myself, this happens - it sucks but it happens. The second night the fire alarm went off at 2am, I thought, oh my god...what is happening?? As many people might know, they continue to make announcements so the alarm really lasts for 20-30 minutes, and then it takes a while to not be on guard and calm down enough to fall back asleep. When I was checking out, I asked what happened, and they told me that it's a known issue, and they have been having issues with their fire alarm provider. What? Seriously? It's a known issue? And they just woke up the entire hotel at 2am? Insane. I asked for compensation for the lost sleep and disruption. They offered me 10,000 Bonvoy points. I mean, they should have just offered me a slap in the face. The last two times I've stayed here, they've also added an additional $40 per day for parking after my folio had been printed. I unfortunately had to call the finance department at the hotel to argue that I didn't get valet parking. I have never even driven in Boston! Read less

Whenever I visit Boston, the Westin Copley is my go-to hotel. It may not be the most luxurious property, but it delivers consistent quality and comfort. The location is unbeatable, and a room with a view of the Charles River makes the stay especially enjoyable.

The hotel overcharged me $500 and will not make it right. I booked a package advertised on their website that was supposed to give me 40% off the second room “at checkout”. The package was stated clearly on my confirmation email. I was charged full price and the front desk said accounting would resolve the issue the next business day. It is now 3 weeks later and multiple unanswered calls and I am still not refunded. Also note that they forgot multiple times to give me the $20 credit for food/drink as part of the “resort fee” $35 per room they charged me. Seems to me this place is trying to take advantage of people, hoping people won’t notice. Stay away Read less
