“Just what we needed / expected for exploring the park”

Stayed two nights while exploring Death Valley National Park. Pretty centrally located, basic room and everything worked and was clean. Beds were comfortable, and we slept well. Check-in was easy and the staff very pleasant. My wife enjoyed the pool both nights after long days in the park. Had an early dinner one night at the Toll Booth restaurant. Food was good and our waitress attentive and pleasant. Would recommend is you need a room while exploring the park.

What leaves the biggest imprint on you when you wander? Spectacular views, Michelin stars, perhaps it’s the way the breeze felt on your skin when gazing up at the stars? For me, these stand. But what stands apart is human connection. Stovepipe does not over promise. They refreshingly tell you the truth upfront. What they don’t tell you is that you might never forget your visit. The desert is like that, you have to look to see. People are what make this strange place special. To Violet and Paul, thanks for doing nothing more than being yourselves.

Always a bit weary when staying the a park- but this was beyond expectations. The room: like all parks it was basic - but everything worked - excellent air conditioning. Nice to have a TV and wifi that you do not always get in 'wilderness park accommodations'. Breakfast: Plenty of hot and cold options, coffee and juices. Excellent value, tasty, well prepared and presented and worth every penny of the $13. Restaurant: a menu that meets all dietary requirements. Happy staff, lively atmosphere. Hot and tasty meals - compliments to the chef.
