As soon as you arrive, you’ll see the natural stone and soothing wood panelling, like a giant Alpine-style retreat. This one overlooks the picturesque Sierra mountain range and Lake Tahoe. You can even enjoy these views from the picture windows in your room which, handily, is soundproofed to make sure you get a good night’s sleep. You may need it after exploring Heavenly's trails. Plus there’s so much to do here, from gambling in the casino and taking in one of the shows, to dining in fabulous restaurants (or in the all-you-can-eat buffet if you’re really hungry!). If all that sounds far too strenuous by half, fear not. The spa treatments, steam room, heated pool and sauna are all perfect for relaxing.

The casino is having most of the casino blocked off. I was not advised of this when I was booking the room on the phone. Construction started @ 0700 hours so couldn’t sleep once it stated. No restaurants open.

My family (husband, two young kids aged 4 and 7, and I) stayed at Harrah’s South Lake Tahoe from April 10–12, 2025. We were excited for a relaxing family getaway, but unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by a serious safety issue and the hotel’s underwhelming response.
On Thursday night, my husband stepped on broken glass while showering and received a small cut his foot in the bathroom. We immediately informed the front desk. While they did offer $100 in resort credit, their attitude felt surprisingly nonchalant for what could have been a much more dangerous situation, especially with kids in the room.
The next day, housekeeping came and we assumed the glass had been thoroughly cleaned up. However, that night, my husband stepped on another shard of glass. Again, we notified the front desk and asked for management. The response? “Well, you got the $100 credit, and we’ll tell the manager.” We were checking out the next day, so there wasn’t much they could do in terms of changing rooms, but it was clear no one really cared.
To make matters worse, after we got home, my husband was still complaining of pain. I ended up having to remove a small shard of glass from his foot myself. Thankfully, neither of our children stepped on anything but it’s unsettling to know they easily could have.
We chose Harrah’s expecting a safe and family-friendly experience, but what we received was far from it. I am a Diamond card holder and the room was comped so understand they couldn't have provided a refund or anything, however, the lack of concern from the staff was deeply disappointing, and it’s not something we expect from a hotel in the Caesar's family.

The casino floor didn’t have many options of entertainment besides gambling during the weekdays. Some of the Bars and shows were closed. Remodeling started very early on two of the days of four. Hells Kitchen and Wolf restaurants at Harvey’s were a welcomed addition.
I appreciate the location of this hotel option and will continue to stay , preferably not during construction.
