Harrahs

Heavenly, Lake Tahoe

Star rating

The hotel

As soon as you arrive, you’ll see the natural stone and soothing wood panelling, like a giant Alpine-style retreat. This one overlooks the picturesque Sierra mountain range and Lake Tahoe. You can even enjoy these views from the picture windows in your room which, handily, is soundproofed to make sure you get a good night’s sleep. You may need it after exploring Heavenly's trails. Plus there’s so much to do here, from gambling in the casino and taking in one of the shows, to dining in fabulous restaurants (or in the all-you-can-eat buffet if you’re really hungry!). If all that sounds far too strenuous by half, fear not. The spa treatments, steam room, heated pool and sauna are all perfect for relaxing.

I recently stayed at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, and honestly, the rooms are in terrible shape. The walls are peeling, the furniture is chipped, and the entire place feels like you’ve stepped into a time machine straight back to the 1990s. The walls are peeling, the furniture is chipped, and the entire place feels like you’ve stepped into a time machine straight back to the 1990s. The décor is outdated, and the strange two-bathroom setup doesn’t make up for how uncomfortable the stay was. The air conditioning? Barely blows cold air, leaving the room stuffy and unpleasant. This is supposed to be one of the most popular casinos in the area, yet Reno hotels have far better rooms. Harrah’s desperately needs a full renovation. They should take notes from Caesar’s Republic right across the street — modern, clean, and beautifully remodeled. Until they upgrade, I can’t recommend staying here. Read less

walked into our room and half glass of beer sitting on the coffee table, nice. Nothing there to make me think that's where we have to stay when we go to Tahoe. We'll try somewhere else next time. Not sure what the $34 resort fee was for. Nothing resort like there, same thing as a "normal" hotel. Location was good though.

John Cole is my Executive Casino Host at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, who is nothing short of outstanding! When I notify John of the dates I will be coming, he promptly informs me of the events, tournaments, shows and other activities that will be occurring during my stay that I may be interested in. He always makes accommodations to make our stay a very comfortable one for making great memories especially this time for our visit for our 55th Anniversary and my husband’s 80th Birthday. Overall, I consider Harrah’s Lake Tahoe as my Caesars Entertainment favorite property because the same people have been there for a long time since we first came in the 1970s. Harrah’s Lake Tahoe staff gives you that “Welcome back home” feeling as they make you feel like you’re a longtime friend returning. Restaurants: Friday's Station and The Sage Room great food and service! Very disappointed the American River Café is closed! American River Café offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner, No more Wonton soup ! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating I’m 72 years old was given a room on the 12th floor at the opposite end of the hall from the elevator.

The blackjack was 6 to 5 odd , the restaurants were over priced for seniors on a fixed income. Kids ran the hall the whole visit . Wasn’t able to use my free play from the Caesars New Orleans. The property is a waste of time and money

We were on the 15th floor. We have been coming to Harrahs Lake Tahoe for 6 years. ALWAYS Wonderful. This room was disgusting to say the least. Dirty. Fridge not working, dust everywhere, floor needed vacuumed, Furniture chipped, dusty and furniture thick with dust.
