Harrahs

Heavenly, Lake Tahoe

Star rating

The hotel

As soon as you arrive, you’ll see the natural stone and soothing wood panelling, like a giant Alpine-style retreat. This one overlooks the picturesque Sierra mountain range and Lake Tahoe. You can even enjoy these views from the picture windows in your room which, handily, is soundproofed to make sure you get a good night’s sleep. You may need it after exploring Heavenly's trails. Plus there’s so much to do here, from gambling in the casino and taking in one of the shows, to dining in fabulous restaurants (or in the all-you-can-eat buffet if you’re really hungry!). If all that sounds far too strenuous by half, fear not. The spa treatments, steam room, heated pool and sauna are all perfect for relaxing.

I had grand expectations for this trip. I spent many a summer as a kid coming to Lake Tahoe and marveling at the area and the quality of the hotels. How far have they fallen? I try not to be pretentious, but my expectations are pretty high. I don’t think it’s too much to ask that there is a minimum amount of cleanliness, value and maintenance.… Read more
I had grand expectations for this trip. I spent many a summer as a kid coming to Lake Tahoe and marveling at the area and the quality of the hotels. How far have they fallen? I try not to be pretentious, but my expectations are pretty high. I don’t think it’s too much to ask that there is a minimum amount of cleanliness, value and maintenance. This place is dirty- from the moment you step in the elevator (fries on the floor for 12 hours), to the towel by the 6th floor elevator overnight, to the crumbs under every cushion in the room, to the walls and carpets in common areas which are decades overdue for a remode. This place gave me Circus Circus Vegas vibes. We couldn’t find one vegan option for my wife in any overpriced restaurant. Smoking is allowed in the casino and the ceilings are low- always a great combination. No way I would ever come back here again. Too many negatives and not enough positives. Read less

Caesars should be ashamed at the degraded condition of the hotel. No cold running water in our bathroom No service over a 4 night stay. The elevators are patched with duck tape in the floor. While still Charging resort fees etc…. Will never stay here again

Been to casinos over 100 times in 55 years. Quite possibly the worst hotel experience in all that time . Facility and operationally. Been to Harrah’s maybe eight times. Used to be wonderful.
