The hotel

With an A-list address in Westwood, bordering Beverly Hills, the Palomar’s a microcosm of all that’s great in LA: the laid-back poolside living, the celeb-worthy design details, and the trend of sustainable cooking. Here you don’t just visit LA, you live it. Its sense of style infuses every space, but nowhere more so than at the pool, where an al fresco lounge features comfy cushioned seating and a fireplace. Double Take serves up unfussy, market-inspired snacks, salads and entrées that shine with Southern Californian ingredients. Bookending each day, the complimentary morning refreshments and evening wine hour remind you this is the land of indulgence; while the free 24-hour gym’s wall of windows looks out onto Wilshire Boulevard, so you don’t miss any sightseeing.

We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and the hotel and staff far exceeded my expectations! I want to give a special shout out to both Emily and JaNay who went above and beyond to make my daughter’s birthday weekend extra special! They went all out with the cutest streamers and treats in the room the girls just loved! The rooms themselves are quite spacious and very clean and upscale. I found the beds to be super comfy and the shower had wonderful bath products! Even though we were facing right out on Wilshire Blvd., it wasn’t loud at all. In fact, one thing I noticed is that it seems very well insulated as I did not even hear sounds above me. We had a $15 credit to use each day at the pantry or restaurant and that worked out well for the kids as they had a really stacked pantry! We also ate in the restaurant for breakfast one day and although a small menu, no complaints. Everything was delicious and the staff were very friendly! There is also a pretty cool game room behind/within the restaurant so that was also nice for the kids. They had pac man, a skee-ball machine, connect 4, pool table, shuffleboard, and lots of board games. We did not use the pool, bummer! We just ran out of time, but we talked to a guest who did use the pool and she said it was lovely. As far as parking, that is the worse part. You’re gonna pay a lot for parking whether you park or valet but that’s just how it is down here. There is no street parking so you need to use the hotel parking. I love the keycard access to get to each door, it felt very safe! They also had plenty of staff and security around to help. It is centrally located and they even offer complimentary one way Uber ride once a day to anywhere within 2 miles which gives you loads of options if you don’t have a car. The rooms have refrigerators, no microwaves. And no coffee maker, but free coffee in the lobby starting at 6am. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it! Read less

I am EXTREMELY impressed with this hotel. They went over and above to make sure that I had/am having a pleasant stay. They are helping me to recover from horrible trauma the past 19 months and I’m very very very grateful to them!!! I highly recommend this hotel and I absolutely will stay here again!!!

Just finished a long weekend at the Kimpton Palomar and had a really nice stay. At check in Matt was so warm, welcoming and kind. He made us feel right at home. My family of four stayed at the property (two toddlers) and we had a one bedroom king suite. The suite was roomy and the bathroom was huge! It was super comfortable and worked out perfectly for us. Breakfast at Double Take was really tasty and the free coffee bar set up each morning was appreciated. The minor things that could have been slightly better (but no one's fault at the hotel) are that the shower water pressure could be stronger and the parking spots in the garage are really tight if you're self parking. But we had a great stay overall and will definitely return! Read less

We very much enjoyed our four-night stay here. The hotel is in a beautiful residential area and is reasonably walkable to stores and restaurants. It’s also within a reasonable drive of numerous attractions (beaches, Hollywood, Griffith, Universal, etc.). Very cool lobby. Clean, quiet room.
