Star rating

The hotel

With an A-list address in Westwood, bordering Beverly Hills, the Palomar’s a microcosm of all that’s great in LA: the laid-back poolside living, the celeb-worthy design details, and the trend of sustainable cooking. Here you don’t just visit LA, you live it. Its sense of style infuses every space, but nowhere more so than at the pool, where an al fresco lounge features comfy cushioned seating and a fireplace. Double Take serves up unfussy, market-inspired snacks, salads and entrées that shine with Southern Californian ingredients. Bookending each day, the complimentary morning refreshments and evening wine hour remind you this is the land of indulgence; while the free 24-hour gym’s wall of windows looks out onto Wilshire Boulevard, so you don’t miss any sightseeing.

I am EXTREMELY impressed with this hotel. They went over and above to make sure that I had/am having a pleasant stay. They are helping me to recover from horrible trauma the past 19 months and I’m very very very grateful to them!!! I highly recommend this hotel and I absolutely will stay here again!!!

Just finished a long weekend at the Kimpton Palomar and had a really nice stay. At check in Matt was so warm, welcoming and kind. He made us feel right at home. My family of four stayed at the property (two toddlers) and we had a one bedroom king suite. The suite was roomy and the bathroom was huge! It was super comfortable and worked out perfectly for us. Breakfast at Double Take was really tasty and the free coffee bar set up each morning was appreciated. The minor things that could have been slightly better (but no one's fault at the hotel) are that the shower water pressure could be stronger and the parking spots in the garage are really tight if you're self parking. But we had a great stay overall and will definitely return! Read less

We very much enjoyed our four-night stay here. The hotel is in a beautiful residential area and is reasonably walkable to stores and restaurants. It’s also within a reasonable drive of numerous attractions (beaches, Hollywood, Griffith, Universal, etc.). Very cool lobby. Clean, quiet room.

Probably my last time at a Kimpton Hotel. Overall a nice looking remodel that can’t hide the age of the building Pros: - good looking rooms - great staff Cons: - shower alternated between scalding hot and absolute cold at 5 second intervals - WiFi average speed was 3.45 MBs. Pretty much unusable. Spent an hour on the phone with their tech… Read more

Overall a nice looking remodel that can’t hide the age of the building Pros: - good looking rooms - great staff Cons: - shower alternated between scalding hot and absolute cold at 5 second intervals - WiFi average speed was 3.45 MBs. Pretty much unusable. Spent an hour on the phone with their tech support trying to troubleshoot. Got it working just enough to download my email - they charged me a $35 resort fee that included “premium internet” (see note above) - really loud air conditioning units - I asked for a quiet room and I could still hear the rumbling of the elevators Read less

I booked a staying using points, for a "free stay" but this hotel ignores IHG term and conditions and charges a hotel worker protection surcharge. So even though I used points, they still charged me over $50/night in fees. Bridgett responded to my complaint with a dismissive response rather than removing the fee.
