Hilton Los Angeles Universal City

Hollywood, Los Angeles

Star rating

The hotel

A Hollywood hangout with noteworthy neighbours, this LA bolthole’s just a block from the theme park heaven of Universal Studios, and just a subway trip from the star-studded sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard. That hasn’t stopped Hilton Los Angeles Universal City coming up with a few extra treats of its own though – our favourite being FIVE on the Hill, where you can enjoy signature dishes and freshly-curated cocktails with Hollywood Hills in the background. Most make a beeline straight for Universal Studios – and, despite it being just around the corner, there’s a complimentary shuttle to save you walking (great for hot days!). And, while you’re there, you can also take in a movie, grab cocktails or craft beers, hit big-name shops, and dine at celeb-chef eateries in the neon lustre of Universal CityWalk.

All the people who worked in there the days we were there was the nicest. Very helpful, attentive and just nice. The installations are ok, just ok. Food and all other services are expensive. Rooms Not worth the price. But convenience to visit the park, they have a shuttle and it's also a 7 min walk distance to get to the park.

Staff were friendly and helpful. I especially appreciated help from the waitress at the lounge bar and the team working at the breakfast buffet. They were thoughtful and the food was delicious. My daughter had an exceptionally good experience in our two night stay. We could see Universal Studio from our windows, that certainly added to her enjoyment. This is what you need when you have a vacation with your kids. When they’re happy, you know you’ll be out of trouble. We’ll definitely come back. Read less

First, the staff was amazing. The rooms are fantastic with great views (we had a Studio view which was tremendous). The pool was open late which we loved. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. And the convenance to the park was the topper. Top shelf experience .

Rooms: Always clean and neat, with everything you could need (including a safe), and great views. Self parking: Couldn't be easier. (Valet is available for those who want it though.) Lobby sitting area: Spacious and attractive, colorful, modern yet comfortable. Dining: Good food options. (I've only gotten room service, but the cafe looks pleasant.) I never even visit the theme park across the street--I stay at the Hilton Universal City because I love the service, the efficiency, the rooms, and the overall cheerful vibe. Read less
