The hotel

Even the most dedicated urban nomad sometimes needs a place to escape LA – and that’s where Le Parc at Melrose comes in. Squirreled away in a residential road in cool West Hollywood (WeHo to those in the know), this high-design hotel is the perfect sanctuary between sightseeing, shopping, and nights at nearby ‘name-dropping’ haunts like The Viper Room and the Roxy. Every room here’s a suite – and Le Parc at Melrose are ones you’ll never want to leave thanks to the balcony, lounge, kitchenette, fireplace, and complimentary WiFi that comes as standard. (And, because you can order up farm-to-fork favourites from Knoll, the hotel’s upscale bistro, you don’t have to leave it.) If you do want a reminder of the city outside, you can always head up to the Skydeck, with its heated rooftop pool, cabanas, and metropolis-skimming views.

Walls and floors are very thin so avoid the first floor especially if you don’t want to hear your neighbours. Sadly we were below a noisy group of non sleepers who liked to drop items and walk around loudly for periods in the early hours. The roof top is a highlight and some of the staff are lovely. We loved the neighborhood too and found several great places to eat. Lastly our check in was poor. Our back door wouldn’t lock and there wasn’t a suitable alternative room as we needed 2 beds so we had to have separate rooms close to the elevator. Luckily this was sorted out the next day for our remaining nights. Read less

A great location, close to shops, bars and restaurants. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Housekeeping is on request so patchy at best, when they do show up they do a great job. Pool area is small but functional. Knoll restaurant on floor 3 do a decent breakfast.
