You know you’ve reached wine country when you arrive at Meritage Resort & Spa. On the threshold of Napa Valley, its design may be Tuscan-inspired, but its soul is pure Napa, with views of a grapevine-covered slope as you swim, hiking (or strolling) trails through nine acres of vineyards, an underground tasting room, and wine served at every turn. But it’s also a place that recognises exceptional wine should be paired with life’s other luxuries: separate adult and family pools, al fresco fireplaces and whirlpools, lazy Sunday brunches, and wining and dining venues like award-winning Siena, the Crush bowling lounge, a café-come-gelateria, and a luxury wine bar. But it’s the Estate Cave that promises the most indulgence; 40 ft underground, it hosts a wine tasting room and Spa Terra’s steam grottos and soaking pools.

Customer Service with a smile?

I stopped by the Meritage for a quick bite and to inquire about a cabana rental. The young lady Tiajhanna with the beautiful smile was so helpful. I felt as if she really enjoyed being helpful as opposed to it just being her job. It was a pleasant experience.

I wouldn’t stay there again for any price.

Francisco at the hotel pool was amazing!!! He is super attentive, customer service oriented and I would stay at the Meritage again just because of him and his customer service/obsession approach. Thank you Francisco for your 1st class customer service!!

Amon and Carlos gave my wife and I the Michelin star experience. First time at the resort and in Napa.
Top tier service and accommodation. European tier style service
It was a bit chilly in May and they gave us a blanket to keep warm!
Thanks for making my wife and I feel special

I’ve stayed at Meritage Resort several times over the years and always considered it a favorite—until this past Mother’s Day, which completely changed my view.
We booked and prepaid for a one-night stay through Expedia, clearly stated on our reservation. Yet, after checkout, we discovered the resort had charged our card again—once for the same night we already paid for, and a second night we didn’t even stay. When we brought it to their attention, they insisted our stay was for two nights, despite documentation proving otherwise. It felt like a blatant attempt to double-bill us and hope we wouldn’t notice.
After several days of emails and calls, they finally acknowledged the error and said they would refund both charges—but as of now, that refund has still not come through.
What’s worse is that at no point did they offer an apology, credit, or even a hint of goodwill. Instead, the manager accused us of trying to get something comped—over an incidentals bill that was under $150. It was dismissive, insulting, and unprofessional.
This experience was not just disappointing—it was dishonest. As someone who used to recommend Meritage to friends and family, I now say this: stay elsewhere. There are many beautiful, reputable options in Napa where you’ll be treated with fairness and respect. Sadly, this resort is no longer one of them.
