The hotel

Rewind and relax during your California adventure at the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa. In the heart of the wine country i'm sure you'll be out exploring local vineyards whilst you're here. But you can also sample wines from a different winery each evening with the daily wine hour - hosted by a local sommelier. And whilst we're on the tastebuds, the food here is great too. At Little Summer you can taste locally souced ingredients with a gourmet touch. Our favourite, however, is South Yard - one of the top BBQ restaurants in the area. Enjoy a homestyle BBQ out in the summer evening air, with unforgettable flavours and yard games for all the family to enjoy. You can even end the evening toasting smores at the firepits! It's not all about the food and drink though, the spa is a massive selling point for this hotel. With 11 treatment rooms offering personalised services and revitalising treatments, you are sure to be pampered and feeling raring to go for the rest of your trip.

Really good stay at this hotel. Very close to five stars (save a few recommended improvements). Location is solid with a ton of parking. Property is very spread out with quite a walk from the lobby to most spots (suggest you park around the back closer to your room). The rooms are holding up okay but they're dark inside. Really good stay at this hotel. Very close to five stars (save a few recommended improvements). Location is solid with a ton of parking. Property is very spread out with quite a walk from the lobby to most spots (suggest you park around the back closer to your room). The rooms are holding up okay but they're dark inside. Sleep quality was good for the two nights of our stay. Loved having a club lounge. It was surprisingly good by US standards. One evening featured delicious roast chicken and an incredible tray of burrata and heirloom tomatoes. Destination fees are always annoying but at least you receive good value for this one if you exploit all the options. We would have liked to use the bikes but the app kept failing to release the bikes because we didn't have Bluetooth enabled (we did). Instead we drove for a walk at the nearby Alston Park (stunning and well worth a visit). Monica on the front desk deserves huge praise for her tireless, friendly assistance throughout our stay. She is a credit to the hotel. Gloria in the club lounge was also so sweet and helpful. Our stay was good but could have been improved by banning smoking around the pool. It really spoiled my swim. The long hallways are quite tired and depressing. They need something to help brighten the mood. Read less

The friendly staff, beautiful lobby, access to free wine tastings at a wide range of wineries, best pillows on earth and lovely grounds make this hotel an absolute stand out. So many options for relaxing from the pool to games to shaded gardens give it a resort feel, but you're so close to excellent dining, shopping and sightseeing options.

Really disappointing hotel and should be branded as a Sheraton or Courtyard rather than as a Marriott. Feels like an old dingy motel (complete with popcorn ceilings) that they gave a cheap facelift to. Rooms are dark and noisy and the hotel is on a major street. Staff was cold and disinterested. What a crummy experience. I prepaid for three rooms. Check-in for everyone was a hassle, charges were mis-represented and poorly explained, I was “blamed” for the way the Marriott Bonvoy registration system set up my confirmation. Blossom tried to smooth things over and it’s clear she cares about her guests’ experiences but I had a couple very unhappy family members. The hotel is extremely noisy. Our room was right near an exterior door (don’t stay in 1135) and there was no sound-deafening mechanism on the door so every time someone entered or exited there was a loud bang. This went on until late and started very early. The hotel is very dated - not up to Marriott standards, especially for $550/night per room. I would definitely not stay here again. Read less

Stayed here for a conference. Rooms are way overpriced for really standard accomodations - a bit drab but clean and beds are comfortable; some inept interior designer for Marriott decided a barn door for a bathroom was a good design feature (it's not). Rooms are way overpriced for really standard accomodations - a bit drab but clean and beds are comfortable; some inept interior designer for Marriott decided a barn door for a bathroom was a good design feature (it's not). Staff is friendly and helpful and the food at the onsite restaurant is good. There is a dearth of information about onsite amenities - they state they have room service but no further information is given, no ice machine is present where the ice machine should be, no facilities to purchase food or drink 24 hours - at other similar hotels there have usually been convenience stores that are actually open convenient hours, here there is not even a vending machine. Most motels I've stayed at at least have an ice machine and a vending machine. This is a very ordinary hotel for an upgraded price. It is a good location and as I said, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. I just would expect much more for the ridiculous price. Read less
