“Great stay at the Renaissance!”

The Renaissance is a very nice hotel in a perfect location 3 blocks from downtown Palm Springs. Great hospitality from the entire staff from check in to departure. Could not have had a more relaxing experience enjoying the pool and all the amenities. We will definitely stay there next time.

“Bugs-Not a fun experience”

I woke up the next morning after spending my first night in room #4283 and discovered I had over 30 mosquito bites over my head, my face, my ear, my neck, my chest, my arms, my back and my leg-30! After moving to another room I spent most of the rest of my day (over 6 hours) at a very busy Eisenhower rapid care center where I received a prednisone shot in my butt-oh fun, at CVS to get a prescription filled for an 8 day prescription for prednisone, and then at Walmart for wristbands for insect repellent bracelets (the Dr. at Eisenhower told me not to get bit anymore-I didn't know they make bracelets now instead of insect spray!).
When I got back to the hotel I spoke with manager Mayra and told her of my experience. I told her I didn't want to pay for my first night's stay nor my second. She said she could only comp me for the night I spent getting bit all over. She said they can't control mosquitos-everybody gets bit!! I told her I had been traveling for a week throughout southern Ca and south Arizona and not been bitten once-not until I stayed in her hotel in room 4283. I asked if anyone else at the hotel had been bitten 30 times in one night? I asked can you control bed bugs?
I have stayed at this hotel many times before without a problem. The mosquito problem didn't go away after the one night stay. Although I was not bitten again while staying in the new room, I have continued to deal with the mosquito bites for over 4 days now-they just didn't go away immediately. It wasn't about the money-it was how I was treated for my experience there-seems the least they could have done was comped me for my entire stay. That's what I would have done for a long time guest.
