My forth visit to this Westin property prompted this review. As one who has drunk all the Marriot brand Kool-Aid (515 nights since 2008, credit card, etc.) the brand gives you lots of options in the Palm Desert area. My previous visits were week long time share exchanges when working from home; now that I’m retired and spending just a few days I’m reevaluating future stays. To be clear, I’m not dishing the property at all. In point of fact, the grounds and rooms were immaculate and rarely have I experienced better trained staff, especially in the Agave restaurant. Since my last visit their deployment of a chat bot to follow up with you on your satisfaction with every touch point was both a new experience and impressive. If your are traveling with family/kids, this is the place for you. Traveling single for a few days, I think the JW will be my future choice. While the cost per night is ~$70 more, the amenities are more upscale. While I love kids, the pools at the Desert Willow were overrun and the water was cloudy -yuk. Just not my cup of tea anymore. I’d highly recommend for extended stays and family. Biggest gripe: charging $25 per day for parking in the desert….only 20% of the spots are covered.
