Resort was clean and modern. However, our room was not ready until after 4 PM.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the pool experience. The resort was selling day passes, which resulted in many lounge chairs being marked “reserved” but sitting empty for long periods of time, making it difficult for paying hotel guests to find seating.
I understand it was Fourth of July weekend and expected the resort to be busy. However, that doesn’t excuse prioritizing day-pass guests over people who paid to stay at the hotel. At one point, we wanted to step away briefly to use our breakfast credit, and the pool manager told us that if we were gone for more than 15 minutes, our chairs would be given away. Meanwhile, numerous “reserved” chairs remained empty for extended periods, and many of those guests never even showed up. It was frustrating to see hotel guests held to a stricter standard than empty chairs reserved for day-pass visitors.
Overall, it felt like the hotel was more focused on generating additional revenue through resort passes than delivering a quality experience for overnight guests. As someone who stays at Hyatt properties regularly, this is the first Hyatt hotel I have no intention of returning to. It was disappointing because I expect better from the Hyatt brand.
The one bright spot was the staff at the bars. Josh and Able were outstanding throughout our stay. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They were the highlight of our visit and the reason the experience was at least somewhat enjoyable.
