( 20 minutes to airport on a mid day Wednesday, 11 minutes to airport early Sunday morning!) We visited Balboa Park, Coronado Island and La Jolla. All very easy to get to and we recommend them all! Plus we spent one day enjoying the beach at the resort. Very relaxing! We dined at both Dockside 1953 and Bianchi - both lovely meals with no disappointments! We were in the 400 room number building. This building is 1/4 mile walk to the front desk/ pool area. For us, no big deal, but I can imagine some people would not like that. The rooms were “fine”. Very good size, but housekeeping was hit and miss with small things. Overall, I was more concerned with feeling safe, and yes, we felt very safe in this environment. Great resort with an incredible staff/employee group that was very helpful and friendly!! As first time visitors to San Diego, staying at The Bahia was a win! Read less

We chose this resort because of the good reviews but realized those good reviews were for their hospitality. And that was great! We got in late and hurried over to the Italian restaurant before they closed and the bartender was super friendly and made good drinks!! So i give this 1 star for that and another star for the comfortable beds. When we got into our room it was like OMG!! Our mirrored closet doors were just hanging off the track, our door didnt really close properly. The bathroom is super small, its like you have to sit on the toilet at an angle. The mirror is off center of the sink and when you are trying to do your hair you keep hitting the wall. I wish i got a picture of the patio lights. You looked up and all you saw was black! Like they havent been cleaned in years. Oh and the internet was terrible. Needless to say we are checking out earlier then planned! Read less

Dockside at the Bahia Resort is absolutely amazing! The food and views are unbeatable, but what really made our experience stand out was the service from Heather Lugo at the bar. She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable about the drinks but also so warm and personable – she made us feel right at home the entire night. Heather recommended some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had, and her attention to detail made the whole evening unforgettable. If you’re visiting the Bahia, definitely grab a seat at the bar in Dockside and ask for Heather, she’ll make your experience next‑level! Read less
