Image of the Tripadvisor rating More Like a Freeway Motel

This hotel is basically a lie. It’s actually on a freeway. We booked a marina view suite and instead got a side view of a marina and a full view of a noisy freeway. They refused to switch our rooms even though we asked both in our initial reservation and when we checked for a quiet room. All I was offered was either ear plugs or I could check out and go home. Maybe they could find me another room another day but no promises. And if so I’d have to carry all my own stuff (after having foot surgery) to the new room myself. Zero kindness, zero hospitality, horrible nasty service. And the pool is only a kids pool - it’s over crowded and there was human feces floating in it. Stay elsewhere. Read less

Very family friendly!! In fact, kids were out of control around the pool. Was hoping for a relaxing spa getaway with friends. This is not that place. Perfect for families.

From the moment we arrived, we felt the signature Hyatt hospitality. The energy in the lobby was welcoming and polished, a true "Hyatt vibe." Staff immediately approached to ask how we were doing and how they could assist. I appreciated being directed where to park for the time being. While waiting in the check-in line, one of the lobby representatives, Philip, came over and offered us two cold waters. That small gesture went a long way. It was an exceptional touch of service. Unfortunately, things hit a snag once we tried to enter our room. Despite having a room key in hand, the door wouldn't open. After a few tries, another guest actually opened the door, understandably confused. I showed them my key and room number, and we were both dumbfounded. It turned out the key was programmed to a different room. ROOM 1502 Our assigned room, 1502, was a highlight. It was spacious and had a stunning view overlooking both the bay and ocean. We also had a clear view of the pool area below. The room featured two televisions, a comfortable King Bed, a pull-out couch bed, a small refrigerator, a Keurig, and a steamer (which unfortunately didn't work). The bathroom could have used a little more space, but overall, the layout and amenities made it very comfortable for our stay. POOL & PROPERTY AMENITIES The Hyatt's pool setup is well thought out for families and relaxation alike. The main pool is shallow, topping out at 4 feet, but there's also a jacuzzi, a kiddie pool with a small slide, and a separate area with two exciting water slides. That's three pools and one jacuzzi total, which makes it feel more like a resort than just a hotel. On property, you'll find a restaurant, a small gift shop, a Starbucks, and a market. Poolside tanning lotion is available for free, which is a thoughtful perk. However, if you get too much sun, be aware: aloe vera isn't stocked anywhere onsite, something the hotel might consider adding. CONCLUSION If you are staying on the Northside of the hotel towers, consider bringing earplugs, lol. The street below, Mission Bay Drive, gets loud at night, especially when motorcycles race down it. Light sleepers, take note, it can definitely interrupt rest. Despite the rocky check-in moment, our overall stay at the Hyatt was great. The service, amenities, and room made it worthwhile. With some minor improvements (like fixing the steamer, getting the right room number and stocking aloe vera), this would've been a near-perfect stay. Still, we left satisfied and appreciative of the effort the staff made to ensure we had a good experience. Would I return? Absolutely Read less

The property has nice potential, but it shows it's age. The service is not up to par with what I have experienced at other Hyatt Regency properties. Not rude, just not accommodating to basic requests. Location is really nice however.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Very cold and windy pool area, in July!

Pool is very windy which makes it cold and somewhat uncomfortable. Be prepared to be very cold if using the pool area! Otherwise the hotel was very nice, great amenities on site
