We loved our experience at Mission Bay Resort! The staff was so friendly and helpful, the valet was quick, and the pool and slides were amazing for our 6 year old daughter. Our room was spacious and had great views of the ocean. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a place with children all over the place, a very crowded pool and overpriced rooms, this is the place for you. Overall the hotel is very nice but not enough space outside in the pool area for the amount of people staying. The parking is $50 a night to then only have a very small parking lot where you have to end up going to valet. The food was subpar at both restaurants for the price. If you have to pay a resort fee, you should be able to use the facilty without it not being completely packed. They also took away the games in the courtyard at 9pm and everything shuts down so that was very dissapointing. Read less

I really wanted to like this hotel because my kids love the water slides. But it is severely understaffed. The pool area is especially chaotic and trying to find a staff member is often very difficult. The sofa bed doesn’t come with sheets and I had to wait hours for sheets late at night. Your experience may differ, but this hotel wouldn’t be my first choice next time I’m in the San Diego area. Read less

Recently stayed at Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, San Diego and was thoroughly disappointed with nearly every aspect of my experience. The hotel's online photos are misleading and do not accurately represent the actual condition of the property. The suite I reserved was far below the expected Hyatt Regency standard. The living area was dark and dreary, with outdated dark carpeting and worn out furniture. The bedroom was equally underwhelming, with a carpet that felt unsanitary. While the bedding and mattress were acceptable, they certainly didn't justify the room's price point. This is my assessment. Bed room * Bedroom included a small nightstand with a few drawers for clothes. There was a closet and dresser in hallway outside of bedroom. * TV limitations: HBO available, but streaming required complicated phone mirroring * Streaming connection was consistently problematic and non-functional Bathroom: The sliding bathroom door was a significant frustration. * Door lacked a proper handle to open and close * Remained dysfunctional even after maintenance attempted a repair * Ventilation is poor * An antiquated bottle opener mounted awkwardly above the mini-fridge with confusing positioning that required an internet search to use Outdoors * Pool cafe "mediocre at best" * No nearby restroom facilities by pool * Pools smaller than appears in photos * Pool water was cloudy and uninviting Resort Fees: * $50 per night plus 45 nightly parking fees * Minimal benefits (two complimentary water bottles and bottle of sparkling cider * Unexplained "San Diego Tour Marketing Fee" included on bill Mission Bay offers limited attractions. For future visits, I recommend staying downtown or near the Seaport for a more enjoyable experience. The property is in desperate need of renovation and does not meet the standards expected of a Hyatt Regency hotel. I will not be returning and advise others to carefully consider alternative accommodations. Read less
