Unfortunately, my experience with this hotel was very disappointing. I made a reservation in error due to a miscommunication within our team and reached out to the property just minutes later to explain the situation and ask for a correction. Despite the clear and honest mistake — and the fact that the request came almost immediately — the hotel was completely inflexible and uncooperative. In the hospitality industry, a bit of understanding and empathy can go a long way, especially when dealing with professionals who travel frequently and may consider returning in the future. Sadly, that was not the case here. This lack of basic customer service and unwillingness to assist in resolving an honest error speaks volumes about their approach to guest relations. I cannot recommend this property and will not consider staying here again. Read less

However, there are old stains on the curtains and bed box spring that we noticed. With Costco travel it covers the resort fees, which was nice, but there is a $45 a night parking fee. The pool and lobby area is nice and visually appealing. The street the hotel is on does have RVs that park all along the road, which didn’t look great. Some looked like they’ve been parked there a long time and yucky. The hotel does require key access to get into the parking lots. However, this wouldn’t stop people from walking onto the property. (We didn’t have any issues though) There is several nice big parks in walking distance, which was nice for the kids. Overall, I would say it was okay, but we’ve stayed on the other side of mission bay and had better experiences. Read less

San Diego Mission Bay Resort is the first resort I have visited that does not offer or host activities. The title "resort" is deceiving with this facility. Resorts offer a wider range recreational activities and amenities; SDMBR does not; there was not a single activity offered. My children were absolutely bored. The "resort" is over-price and offers nothing and charges you for everything. There is no community microwave offered and they charge a $25 fee to use the microwave. The parking fee is $45 per night, however, the security gates are NEVER lowered risking the chances of theft. Why charge a parking fee if no security is provided. Also, there is a buildup of mold in the bathrooms and broken furniture in the rooms. While housekeeping comes daily to clean your room, they do not dust or vacuum. We had two rooms and both rooms were dusty including the bathroom and the shelves that house the towels and wash clothes had build-up dusty and dirt. Last, the maintenance staff is not reliable. placed a service call due to a broken glass side table that was discovered upon checkin into the room. Maintenance never arrived to remove the table. The rooms are old, outdated and have a moldy smell. I would think twice before booking. Read less

Buildings, hallways, pools all dated and need refreshing. Our room had a nice view of the bay and appeared to have been updated more recently but overall the resort feels tired and outdated. Key card access required to enter the parking lot, access the pool and get towels at the pool is not my typical hotel experience at a 4 star which is why I’m saying three stars. That could be because of the nomad lifestyle in Mission Bay which takes some getting used to. Read less
