As a San Diego local, it takes a special kind of experience to make me feel like I'm on vacation in my own backyard—but Covewood at the Mission Bay Resort delivered that and more. My sister and I grabbed dinner at the bar and had the best time, thanks in huge part to the dynamic duo behind the bar: Sami and Kay. These two were absolute pros—gracefully handling a bar full of patrons and a massive party of 30, all while still making us feel like VIPs. It’s rare to find bartenders who can juggle chaos and connection with that much style. And get this—when they’re not serving up flawless cocktails and warm hospitality, they’re rescuing dogs and running book clubs. (Yes, really. Book clubs and puppy love. I mean, come on!) It’s no exaggeration to say they’re the kind of people who make a place unforgettable. Covewood itself? Gorgeous. Breezy. That perfect blend of upscale comfort and laid-back SoCal energy. The food hit the spot, the drinks were spot-on, and the whole evening left us wondering why we don’t do this more often. If you’re visiting from out of town—or lucky enough to live here—do yourself a favor and spend an evening at Covewood. Bonus points if you get a seat at the bar with Sami and Kay. Your soul will thank you. Read less

The rooms are amazing. The resort is amazing. Where else can you go from the pool to paddleboarding in just a few steps. You never have to leave the resort, they have everything you could need.

We loved the resort. I grew up near San Diego and have gone to Mission Bay many times in my youth. It was fun to stay on the bay and share the beauty with my family. Rentals for water sports are available. The Sea World fireworks lighting up the bay at night was an added bonus. Everyone loved their time at SD MB Resort.
