The hotel

It’s said that life in San Francisco is best lived on the waterfront. Where better to sample it than at Hotel Zoe, a stroll from Pier 39 and the bay. Wander out and you’ll stumble upon many fabulous shops and eateries, or pop into the hotel’s Italian trattoria for homemade crab ravioli or roasted sea bass. They serve a delicious breakfast too - why not grab a table on the sidewalk and watch as Mason Street comes to life?

There is a woman named Norma, she welcomed us with warm hospitality every single morning that we would see her.( coffe station on lobby) She made us feel very comfortable. I appreciate the friendliness she was with my mother who unfortunately has a language barrier however she came to realize that Norma spoke Spanish. My mother was very pleased and happy to know she had someone to help and count on her stay at Hotel Zoe. We were very sad to be informed that she only works on weekends because our stay was for much longer and we wouldn't have a familiar face to see anymore. Overall Norma made our stay much better and we will definitely recommend Hotel Zoe to our friends and family. Read less

This trip was my mom's first time in the US and I wanted it to be special for her! From the moment we stepped into Hotel Zoe, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel like VIPs—thanks to the incredible team that truly went above and beyond! Joi, who checked us in, greeted us with the warmest smile and made the whole process smooth and effortless. She was professional, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Her energy set the perfect tone for our stay. A special shoutout goes to Roy, who not only made our booking experience seamless but also surprised us with a thoughtful welcome letter and a selection of goodies in our room! That kind of attention and care is rare, and it speaks volumes about Roy’s commitment to making guests feel seen, valued, and at home. It’s staff like him who turn a good hotel stay into a truly exceptional one. Hotel Zoe SFO is lucky to have him, and we feel lucky to have experienced his hospitality! We were also touched by the kind gesture from Eric, the Housekeeping Manager, who sent us a bottle of wine. It was an unexpected surprise and the perfect way to unwind during our stay. That level of thoughtfulness is rare and deeply appreciated. Lastly, Arnold, the houseman, was always quick to respond to any of our requests—whether it was for extra towels, lotion, or shampoo. He was friendly, prompt, and always had a smile. He made sure we had everything we needed to stay comfortable throughout. Every single one of them contributed to a truly memorable experience. It's clear that the staff at Hotel Zoe SFO take pride in what they do and genuinely care about their guests. This wasn’t just a hotel stay—it was a heartwarming experience we won’t forget. Highly recommended, and we can’t wait to come back! Read less

When I first got there, I was disappointed because the room was very small for a deluxe king. Within the next four days, the place did grow on me… It is a cute boutique hotel but like I said, my room was very small and the bathroom fan runs continuously, you could not turn it off. I even had maintenance come up and they said I would just have to close the bathroom door. They also charge $100 a day for incidentals which should be refunded, if you do not use them. I did not use any of the amenities while I was there… i.e a one hour bike rental, $15 in room food credit, etc. but when I checked out, they would not wave any of the resort fees… They charged me an additional $164.80 for a four night stay in fees… I believe the other hotels do it as well so it is what it is but be prepared…beforehand, I also looked at staying at the Riu and the Zephyr, those two hotels looked really dumpy plus a lot closer to the wharf… If you don’t mind the fees, the location is excellent…close enough, but far enough away from all the crowds. Clean, comfortable and convenient to tourist area of the wharf. Adriel the Bellman started our visit in a friendly and helpful way. He continued to make us feel like we were friends visiting the whole time. His warmth made our experience even more comfortable.
