The hotel

Get the true Fisherman’s Wharf experience at this fashionable hotel. Hyatt Centric's red-brick design fits in well with its surroundings, and its arched windows frame famous attractions like Pier 39, Ghiradelli Square, and The Embarcadero. Step inside and see its exposed brick and industrial accessories, but with a chic ‘seaside hotel’ twist. For a treat, grab your towel and head to the courtyard pool and whirlpool. And why not end the day with a glass of local wine by the fireplace — and maybe a tasty crab and clam chowder?

Excellent hotel in San Francisco Embarcadero neighborhood. Well located. Front of the hotel is on North Point St side. Easy check-in process. Room was spacious and clean. We only had breakfast at the hotel, and it was far better than expected. Special kudos to their crispy potatoes.

Centrally located hotel to explore San Francisco including the Wharf and Marina Districts. Courteous staff. We were able to check in a couple of hours before the 4:00 p.m. check-in time. Our room was quiet and well maintained. Nice pool and hot tub on-site.

We enjoyed our stay overall. The room was nice and comfortable, we enjoyed having a private garage for our vehicle and the valet service was exceptional and prompt. The food next door at brick and beam was nice. Service was great. The big gripe I have is this “resort fee” I was slapped with at check in. That is a big scam. When I asked what that was for and they just rambled about “the amenities within the hotel” Um, no. This is a scam. You charge a nightly rate which covers the “amenities” just like everywhere else in the country. The hote charging this, especially at check in after I’ve prepaid the nightly fee, is a slap in the face and I was not happy about it. Read less

The hotel is in a really central location to the Pier and hop on/off start. It’s also in the middle of quite a few hotel chains so felt safe walking around - Trader Joes is a 5 min walk. The rooms are quite dated but clean and spacious - beds were comfy and good shower, which are the essentials! I would say it’s a good base to explore but we tried… Read more
