Parc 55 San Francisco A Hilton Hotel

San Francisco, California

Star rating

The hotel

One for shopaholics and sightseers alike, Parc 55 San Francisco is easy shopping-bag-hauling distance from Union Square — the only question is, do you hit the big-name brands of the nine-storey Westfield mall or the one-of-a-kind boutiques around the square? Its address also puts you a quick hop from Powell Street’s cable car turnaround, Yerba Buena Gardens, and Chinatown. Once you’ve filled your suitcase and your camera’s memory, you can enjoy the locally inspired dishes of Cable 55 (with its equally local microbrews), and Thai treats of Kin Khao.

I read reviews about this hotel before going. Normally, I have a different experience to the reviews I read, but the reviews about the noise from the streets at night and thin walls are spot on. Vents on the windows do not close properly. Fine big hotel, clean, nice room. One thing we did not know going was that the pool is in a different hotel, a… Read more

Vents on the windows do not close properly. Fine big hotel, clean, nice room. One thing we did not know going was that the pool is in a different hotel, a bit of an inconvenience, but the heated pool in the other hotel is lovely. Your tourist tax is giving back to you to spend in the hotel, which is a quality touch. But outside of the hotel is like a zombie land, my heart goes out to those homeless people and it is not the hotels fault but we had some uncomfortable experiences with them. Read less

Good security and location. Our bed had bed bugs and it was very stressful to think of the aftermath to prevent them from bringing them home. Now I always know to triple check instead of thinking I’m paranoid.

The whole experience exceeded my expectations from getting a better room than was selected, to the personnel being friendly and courteous to one of the best gyms in any hotel I have stayed at. At a great price, making it the best value in the city

Overall, the hotel is situated in a stunning position, close to Union Square and to many other landmarks that are reachable by car (such as Pier 39, Golden Gate…). There have been a few oversights in the preparation of the room, nevertheless nothing too meaningful. We tested the restaurant only at breakfast, and it offered a broad variety of savory foods, sweets and beverages! Definitely recommended! Read less
