Just a pleasant stroll from the shops and entertainment at Pier 39, and the ferry to Alcatraz, the Riu Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf makes a stellar base to explore from. The hotel’s relaxed and friendly vibe is ideal after a day’s dim sum dining, cable car riding and selfie snapping. Your room is suitably airy and comfortable, you can kick back on the sun terrace by the outdoor heated pool, and, perhaps our favourite part, you can hangout by a crackling fire pit in the outdoor living area.

If you re planning a holiday in San Francisco, look no further than the Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf. If I could put the hotel anywhere in San Francisco, I would put it exactly where it is. It took us (70 & 72 year old couple) less than 4 minutes to get to Pier 39 which is the main hub of the city.

The staff are wonderful, the hotel lobby is large and welcoming with a well stocked bar and a 'grab and go' facility for snacks and drinks.
The bedroom was large and comfortable with a large TV, fridge and safe.
The breakfast was not good, not very good but outstanding!!
There is good WiFi within the hotel.
There really aren't enough stars to do this hotel justice. You will not be disappointed.

Good location if you are visiting Fisherman's Wharf. Clean room with comfortable bed. The down side: As some mentioned the bathroom area is very small. No closets. Very limited drawer space. No availablity for 2 queen or twin beds during recent visit with my grandson. A single King only. For our "upgraded" room: Very limited view of anything other than another window. 3 elevators one of which is alway not working. Buffet breakfast is very orginized but a zoo. No lines for the limited menu just crowds rushing around to the verious offerings: Cold mountains of scrambled eggs, etc. We skipped it after the first morning. Check out is noon which is okay. But there is a charge to hold bagage if you want to roam the last hours of your visit. Pretty expensive for what you get. But, that's what the area commands.

GREAT location near Fisherman’s Wharf; only 2 blocks away! Got upgraded to a suite for our which was a nice surprise! Amazing breakfast too! Pillows were pretty flat, but other than that, our stay was great! We’ll be back!
