I checked into Casa Madrona expecting a luxury stay and instead found myself checking out in the middle of the night.
The bed was unbearably uncomfortable and hard that sleeping was impossible.
It felt like a budget Days Inn mattress..hard, noisy, cheap, and completely unacceptable for a ‘luxury’ hotel that is one of the most expensive in the area.
When I spoke with the front desk, they offered to move me to another room, then casually admitted that all of the beds in the hotel are the same. That alone says everything. If every room has the same terrible mattress, that’s not a solution, it’s an admission of a property-wide problem. I didn’t want to go to another room just to be just as frustrated and even more tired. This was then used against me when I requested a refund because they offered me another room..
I am not a picky sleeper when it comes to mattresses and am fine with a nice firm mattress, this is not a nice firm mattress and there was no effort to offer any solutions like a mattress topper, etc.
To make matters worse, Keith in management refused to issue a refund despite the fact that I couldn’t even stay the night.
The rooms themselves are also dated and tired, with nothing that justifies the premium price point.
There is absolutely nothing luxury about this hotel whatsoever.
The only redeeming quality is the location, but a decent address doesn’t make up for zero sleep, dated rooms, and dismissive customer service.
If you value comfort, sleep, a luxury stay, or fair treatment as a valued-guest, look elsewhere.
I live locally and will never recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family, and definitely won’t be back myself.
