“Extremely Unprofessional”

Oct 16, 2026Sightseer23892181839

Extremely Unprofessional – Overbooked and Relocated Without My Consent I booked this hotel through Booking.com for two nights. I arrived at approximately 1:00 AM, only to discover that the hotel had been overbooked. Without any prior notice or consultation, the hotel had arranged for me to stay at a neighbouring hotel for the first night. To make matters worse, I was told that I would need to check out of the alternative hotel by 11:00 AM, then return to the original hotel and wait until 2:00 PM to check in, leaving me with a three-hour gap between check-out and check-in. I fully understand that overbooking can occasionally happen. However, informing guests in advance and obtaining their consent before making alternative arrangements is the bare minimum of professional customer service. This hotel did neither. They simply made the decision on my behalf without even attempting to contact me. I had important commitments the following day and absolutely no time to repack my belongings, check out, move between hotels, and check in again. This unnecessary disruption was incredibly inconvenient, particularly after arriving at 1:00 AM. What makes this situation even more unacceptable is the hotel’s excuse. They claimed that because I had booked through Booking.com, they did not have my contact details or was not able to reach me. This is a completely inadequate explanation. They did not even attempt to contact me through Booking.com, which provides a messaging system specifically for communication between properties and guests. The entire experience demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for customers. Rather than taking responsibility for their overbooking, they expected me to bear all the inconvenience caused by their poor management. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Based on my experience, your confirmed reservation does not guarantee that you will actually be accommodated at the property you booked. They may relocate you without your knowledge or consent and expect you to rearrange your schedule to accommodate their mistakes. I cannot say whether this is a regular practice at this hotel, but the way the situation was handled raises serious concerns. An absolutely disgraceful experience. Extremely unprofessional management and appalling customer service. I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.
