**5 Stars – A Wonderful Stay in the Heart of Nob Hill**
My wife and I recently stayed at the Stanford Court while celebrating our anniversary, and we were very pleased with our choice. After researching many hotels in San Francisco, we found the Stanford Court offered an excellent combination of location, comfort, and value.
The Nob Hill location is outstanding. We felt comfortable walking the neighborhood, and it was easy to reach Chinatown, the cable cars, North Beach, and many of San Francisco's other attractions. The area has a classic San Francisco feel while still being quiet and well maintained.
The hotel itself is modern, clean, and inviting. We stayed in a Skyline View Junior Suite on the fifth floor, and the view of the city was excellent. Because of the location, we could occasionally hear the cable cars and some traffic below. Rather than being a distraction, we actually felt it added to the charm and atmosphere of staying in San Francisco.
The room was spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was in excellent condition.
The staff was outstanding throughout our stay. Everyone we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help. We were welcomed with complimentary bottled water, and when we realized we had forgotten our toothbrushes and toothpaste, they happily provided replacements without hesitation. It's those little touches that make guests feel well cared for.
I was also impressed with the fitness center. The gym is modern, clean, and very well equipped with quality equipment. Everything I used was in excellent condition. As someone who enjoys working out while traveling, I was pleasantly surprised to find three rowing machines, including a Concept2, which is considered one of the best rowing machines available.
If you're driving, be aware that valet parking in San Francisco is expensive, although that's common throughout the city and not unique to this hotel.
Overall, we had an outstanding experience and would gladly stay at the Stanford Court again. If you're looking for an upscale hotel in a safe, walkable neighborhood without paying luxury hotel prices, I highly recommend it.
