The Mar Monte is our favorite hotel in Santa Barbara. We have been 4 times and twice in the last 6 months. We love the comfy beds and excellent breakfast which is included with our Hyatt Globalist benefits. The location is the best of any hotel in Santa Barbara. We love the comfy beds and excellent breakfast which is included with our Hyatt Globalist benefits. The location is the best of any hotel in Santa Barbara. The beach is so close, and if you get an ocean view room, you can hear the waves crashing all night. The lobby and restaurants are beautifully decorated. Sky usually works the Front Desk and is super friendly, helpful and professional. We can’t wait to return! Read less

I had high hopes for the Mar Monte given its stylish design and prime location, but unfortunately, our stay fell well short of expectations. The biggest issue was the condition of our room—it was damp and musty throughout our visit. Nothing ever seemed to dry, including our towels and even our clothes. Speaking of towels, the ones provided were old, thin, and stained—certainly not what you’d expect from a hotel charging this kind of rate. For the price point, the overall experience just didn’t measure up. While the aesthetic of the property is unique and the beachfront location is undeniably beautiful, those factors alone don’t justify the cost when the basics aren’t being met. On a positive note, the valet staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated their service. But unfortunately, that alone wasn’t enough to balance out the disappointment with the room’s condition and amenities. Read less

Very convenient location to the beach. All parking is valet there with some public spots two streets down. WIFI connection was fine but service was spotty and inconsistent. I'll say the location was key. One day we spent 3 hours at the nearby zoo (small but intimate ) followed by 4 hrs at beach. Then had quick dinner then to the hotel pool.
