We had a fantastic stay at the Fairfield Inn in Oakhurst. The location is perfect—just about an hour’s drive from Yosemite National Park, which made it an ideal base for our daily adventures. The hotel was clean, modern, and comfortable, with friendly staff and all the amenities you’d expect from a top-tier chain. The only downside—and the reason for a slight personal disappointment—was the breakfast experience. As visitors from England, we were especially excited to try the American-style waffles, but unfortunately, there was no waffle mix available during our stay. It was something I’d really been looking forward to, so it was a bit of a letdown. Secondly, I find it appalling that guests are charged an additional $12 per night just to park their vehicle. For a hotel of this type, especially in a small town, charging for parking feels excessive and unnecessary. That said, everything else more than made up for it, and I’d absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Yosemite area! Read less

This hotel falls far short of Marriott standards. The room had a musty smell. My wife has a severe allergy to furry animals and our room triggered her allergies. I cannot for the life of me understand why some hotels allow pets in guest rooms. If they do, there should be rooms set aside specifically for guests with pets so people with allergies need not suffer. For some people, those allergies can lead to serious health issues. Pillows were flat and the bed felt like a futon. Our sink drain was clogged. Even after reporting it to the front desk, it was never unclogged. Breakfast was terrible. We were served exactly the same tired items three mornings in a row. This hotel clearly cares nothing about its guests. We will not be back. Read less

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Their complimentary breakfast was much better than I expected, and the room was clean. Also, we found a good restaurant for dinner within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel. There was a long line at the front desk but the staff were patient.

Our stay was nice. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The location was good for our trip. The breakfast was good however, basic. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was no extra Kleenex or toilet paper, staff helped us get extras.

We tried reaching out to management and have still yet to hear back about this issue. We've stayed at other Marriott hotels and have always had a great experience, but as you can see in the photos, our room did not live up any Marriott standards. We paid $230 for the room for one night and this is what we got... The shower had black mold throughout. The bathroom had strange dark liquid stains on the walls near the sink and above the toilet. The desk was strangely covered in dust and dirt. What is also unsettling is the mold in the shower has been there awhile and the hotel staff have obviously seen this black mold repeatedly and felt nothing was wrong about this. It would take a maintenance professional all of 5 minutes to remove and replace the molded caulking. Most disturbingly, our room was located next to what seemed to be a boiler room. A little hum would have been fine but loud banging noises occurred every 15 minutes throughout the night, shaking and vibrating the entire bed and making it impossible for us to get any rest that night. Given the unacceptable condition of the room and the repeated disturbances which did not allow us to sleep, we requested a refund and still haven't heard back. Marriott corporate customer service only offered us reward points as a consolation, which equated to maybe 10% of the cost of the room. We visit yosemite on a regular basis throughout the year and were really looking forward to making this Marriott our go-to hotel for our yosemite trips, but this experience has left us thinking otherwise..
