The hotel

As the name suggests, Yosemite View Lodge is so close to the park that any closer and you'd actually be in it! It also straddles the banks of the Merced River on which river rafting is available in season (Apr-Jun) together with excellent fishing. Virgin Holidays guests will be spoilt for choice with not one, but three swimming pools to choose from, as well as five whirlpools and two restaurants. There is also a cosy lounge bar in which to discuss the day's adventures.

Im going to give an honest review for people staying more than a day at Yosemite. The lodge claims to have working internet and streaming services of which they do not. Did not have working internet or TV for the 3 nights we were there. Claim to have laundry services but found 3 of the 4 washing machines to be out of order, so good luck competing against the other guests for time to wash your clothes. They have a pizza place which has good pizza and a restaurant at 30 bucks a plate that is less then worth it to say the least. Neither place opens till 5pm and there are zero grocery stores without having to drive into the park and good luck locating parking. So basically you can not eat until 5 pm every day and only at the 2 places I listed, so I hope you like pizza. The rooms are incredibly out dated and most features in the rooms are non operational. At $400.00 dollars a night i expected much better. I would expect this kind of service at a 49 dollar a night hotel. Again if your only staying 1 night to visit the park thats one thing but not for more than that. Read less

The patio is right next to the roaring Merced River. Bathroom was spacious for 2 people. Beds are comfortable. making your own meals and eating on the patio is a great alternative to restaurant food. Large property with 3 pools, 5 hot tubs, game room and laundry. Negatives..Jacuzzi tub is too big and deep for senior guests. It was difficult to get in and out of even with handrails. There is no bathroom fan, so ther was mold on the ceiling. The bed had a metal"skirt", so every time you accidentally bumped it there was the sound of thunder. When the heat comes on, it sounds like a loud remote control car . Read less

Great stay close to Yosemite. I was nervous on first glance of what the rooms would be like. They were pleasantly clean and comfortable. Nice to have a stove top, microwave, and mini fridge considering the lack of restaurants in the area. The lobby has a good selection of food ans goods and the employees were wonderful. Ate at the pizzeria on property and it was delicious. Plenty of pools and hot tubs to enjoy, as well as a small area to sit and enjoy the river. While the game room was outdated and many machines were down, our family enjoyed what was available. I would most definitely return when at Yosemite and as long as you go into it not expecting a 5 star resort, it's a wonderful experience. Read less

It looks like the Yosemite View Lodge was a motel in another life, as some areas look have been updated, while some areas have not. As a result, our room came complete with a mini kitchen with an old school drip coffee maker - terrible coffee! Also, the bathroom had a huge pink jacuzzi bathtub with a shower. The side of the tub was pretty high, so not that easy to climb over into the tub/shower. Lots of towels. The mattress was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the TV didn't work. This was our 'Plan B' hotel as we couldn't find accommodations in the Park. The view and location improved my rating. Read less
