Newly opened in 2024, the Riu Plaza Chicago is in the perfect location to explore the Windy City. Start your day with an American buffet breakfast in the hotel - it's included in your stay afterall! Then stroll to the corner of the street and you're already on Magnificent Mile so you can shop to your hearts content, and just a little further on is 360 Chicago for some unreal views of the city and Lake Michigan. Speaking of good views, the hotel has a rooftop bar on the 26th floor, so you can enjoy a cocktail with a glorious backdrop in the summer. And if it's a little chilly, you can cosy up in the lobby bar instead - so you're sorted all year round.

New, good interior and room design, close to luxury hotels. Breakfast was good and services are OK. The best is the location which is very close to Prada, Starbucks (biggest in USA) and Magnificent Mile!

One of the best stays I’ve ever had in Chicago. The service was exceptional, the room was beautiful and the rooftop was the icing on the cake. I wish I had more time there.

Excellent location for exploring Chicago downtown. Room and breakfast are perfect for a short city break. Plenty of local places to eat and drink close to the hotel. We’ll recommend RIU hotel.

I’d seen the RIU brand over the course of my previous travels in various tropical locations, but wasn’t aware until recently there was one in Chicago. Coupled with attractive pricing and an included breakfast, it was time to give this brand a try. I’m glad I did. The hotel is beautiful, modern and nicely scented, with a superb location. You can basically trip out the front door and land on Michigan Avenue. Dozens of restaurants and shops for all budgets are in close reach. We kept our car in an overnight parking garage about a half a block away. The room was clean, spacious and looked fresh. Beds were very comfortable and I appreciated the hotels attention to environmental conservation, which was especially noticeable in the hallways when the lights would only get brighter when triggered by motion. Breakfast was very enjoyable with many delicious options. I thought it was a nice touch that a staff member brought you to your table. There were plenty of staff to keep the area clean and tidy. Drinks and food are also available at the Rooftop, which is a must do for the views and the glass floor viewing area. Our server here was very friendly, but as happy hour got busier, service really slowed significantly. The beautiful lobby bar was enjoyable too, with special mention to Jose who provided great service. Overall, I found the hotel staff very friendly, accommodating and I think this was probably the area that exceeded my expectations the most. Service sometimes can get lost in a bigger hotel but I didn’t find this to be the case here. I had no idea what to expect from the RIU brand, but I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations, facilities and friendliness. This hotel provides a great experience at a great value. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! Read less
