The hotel is in a great location for the Magnificent Mile and many other attractions like the Navy Pier.
The rooftop bar provides a great place for drinks and is what really attracted us to the hotel. I think they may have been short staffed on one of our visits, as despite us booking, we waited half an hour for a table, and it all seemed quite chaotic, however staff are lovely. We used the rooftop bar 4 times on a 2 day stay! Food is nice, if a bit limited.
Our stay included breakfast, which was a bonus, but it was a bit like a busy canteen! Very noisy, on both days, our table became occupied by somebody else while we were getting breakfast, so we had to try and find alternative seating. However, the food was good, replenished frequently and quite a wide choice. Hot and cold options, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, pastries etc.
Check in was good, but I did ask reception about booking a table in the rooftop bar, and they said I needed to go online and use a booking website, it felt quite dismissive and there was nobody else at reception and w staff, so it didn’t feel very helpful. I did wonder what if somebody wanted to book who wasn’t technically savvy…..?
Bell boys were really helpful and arranged a taxi for us when we were checking out. Our 4pm taxi was outside at 3.30pm, so the bell boymasked if we were ready they would load our cases into the cab. We went ahead and departed early, but I then received 2 WhatsApp messages telling us our taxi was outside the hotel at 4.15pm asking where we were…..maybe communication between the hotel and the taxi company needs looking at?
