A riverside retreat in Louisiana, this hotel lies along the Vermilion Bayou, just 3 miles from downtown Lafayette – but it offers a much more refreshing swim in its outdoor pool, which sits on the riverbank overlooking the water. My sister and our daughters were guests here and were amazed how nice ALL of the employees were from the front desk to housekeeping as well as the Airport Shuttle bus driver. When were returned home my sister thought she had forgotten a very expensive shoe there at the hotel and the head of housekeeping, Elissia Boyance went way out of her way… Read more
My sister and our daughters were guests here and were amazed how nice ALL of the employees were from the front desk to housekeeping as well as the Airport Shuttle bus driver. When were returned home my sister thought she had forgotten a very expensive shoe there at the hotel and the head of housekeeping, Elissia Boyance went way out of her way to help my sister track the shoe down. Every time we called the front desk with a question or request they were so kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Lafayette. Read less

Some DoubleTrees can be hit or miss. This was a Hilton before. This place seems to be struggling. I know that Lafayette has grown, but this property is not keeping up. The rooms have a "rinsy" undress smell. It is very outdated...hallways, clean, but outdated. For anyone that has longtime Diamond Status, the executive lounge is only for those who… Read more
Some DoubleTrees can be hit or miss. This was a Hilton before. This place seems to be struggling. I know that Lafayette has grown, but this property is not keeping up. The rooms have a "rinsy" undress smell. It is very outdated...hallways, clean, but outdated. For anyone that has longtime Diamond Status, the executive lounge is only for those who originally reserved executive rooms (executives rooms are regular rooms with bathrobes). Very strange. At any rate, I'll be checking out the other Hilton properties (along with my cadre of colleagues who travel here for work). Management has got to update this property! Read less

My family and I have visited this property frequently throughout the years. Due to this, many of the staff greet us on a first-name basis. Our experience when checking in is always professional and greeted with a smile and a cookie. As a diamond level member, we have been offered several times, room upgrades and even by request been granted room upgrades. My experience at the bar has also been great with the bartenders delivering exceptional drinks and service, even when there’s a packed house. With all of the good I have listed, I think there are some things that could defiantly be improved. The property as a whole is in need of a major update. Although we haven’t had any major issues with cleanliness, I can see that attention to detail is not a priority. If those details like ( rusted lamps and fixtures, peeling wall paper, dust on vents, dust on bed headboards, ect.) were addressed the overall aesthetics would be less of a problem. The pool area is in need of attention as well… having an attendant checking in hourly to make sure there are clean towels, and that the area is clean would go a long way. Some music would be nice as well and maybe an outside bar. The last thing we noticed is the food. Breakfast is terribly lacking, basic at best for the price. This property is in the heart of Acadiana, and no one would know that with the buffet options. Adding a shrimp sauce on side of the grits, an omelet bar, waffel’s and praline chicken tenders would level up this breakfast buffet experience. Overall we do enjoy this property and hope to see it improve. I do hope that some of the reviews and suggestions listed here do not fall on deaf ears but are addressed. Shampoo and conditioner dispensers both empty in shower. Had run out of teabags in the breakfast area and couldn’t replace from anywhere else within hotel(?). No yoghurt available at breakfast. We saw some rubbish on a console in the Level 5 lobby when we arrived; it was still there when we left the morning after…., ….all lack of attention to… Read more

The hotel is fine and has a nice bar and restaurant but for us the location was terrible. There was nowhere to go or eat on foot. Located between the river and a busy road.
