One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, which made the high rating surprising. The property is in clear need of a refresh—carpets are worn and dated, and the paint shows its age. While the room was generally clean, I did notice a few hairs.
I stayed for one night (Saturday) with my two dogs. The male associate at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my interaction with the manager was less positive. When I went to check out the fitness room, I was walking down the hallway and he simply stood there watching me. It seemed obvious I was a guest. Only once I reached the elevator did he ask, “May I help you?” The interaction felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming, despite the fact that he was working.
I did dine at the restaurant downstairs. The female associate at the bar was very pleasant and professional. The food itself was just okay, but the pricing was reasonable. Hotel restaurants often overcharge for mediocre food, but my bill was $56 for two generously poured glasses of wine, soup, an entrée, and dessert.
There isn’t much in the immediate area—just an Outback Steakhouse (with part of the sign missing, which gave me pause), and the nearest Starbucks is about a mile away. If you’re traveling with pets, there appears to be a newly renovated La Quinta nearby, which may be a fresher option with a lower pet fee.
For the price of the room, definitely not up to Hilton standards.
