While this hotel boasts an excellent location and an impressive exterior, the experience falls short of expectations. The lobby presents well, featuring amenities like a pool table, gaming area, and small market near check-in. The secure elevator system requiring key access is a welcome safety feature. Unfortunately, several issues marred our six-night stay in May. The most concerning problems included: Maintenance and Design Issues: - Bathroom flooding problems due to poor shower design - Wet bathroom floor upon arrival - Broken closet door - Sparsely furnished room with requests for additional furniture denied - W XYZ Bar's non-functioning oven during our stay Service Challenges: - Unwelcoming front desk staff during check-in and check-out - Slow response to requests for extra towels - Poor communication regarding water shutdown (same-day notice) - Limited towel provision despite room occupancy Facilities: - Clean gym (extreme temperature issue one evening- temp set to 90 degrees) - Adequate room size but lacking essential furnishings While the hotel offers some positive features, the combination of maintenance issues and subpar service makes it difficult to recommend. For travelers considering options in the area, the Courtyard New Orleans French QuarterIberville Street provides a superior alternative. The property's potential is evident in its location and aesthetic appeal, but significant improvements in service quality and maintenance are needed to meet basic hospitality standards. Read less

Nice rooms, nice employees, but the experience is a mess - not anywhere near the Bonvoy hotel standards. If you have an option, stay elsewhere. We were here for 6 nights. Only 1 of 3 elevators worked the entire trip. Rooms start on the 11th floor, so everyone has to use the elevators. On the plus side, everyone got to meet their neighbors waiting… Read more

Only 1 of 3 elevators worked the entire trip. Rooms start on the 11th floor, so everyone has to use the elevators. On the plus side, everyone got to meet their neighbors waiting for, or squeezed into, the elevator. Calls to housekeeping for things like missing soap, broken hairdryer or towels were answered, but delivery of items either never happened (had to go down to lobby after 2 hours to get for ourselves) or took 1/2 a day. False fire alarm EVERY single day (including middle of night) Stairwells are locked so you can’t go between floors without using elevators, which weren’t working. I found out the hard way, walking down 13 floors. None of these are terrible issues on their own, but when you combine them together, happening over and over, it puts a damper on the experience. I'm here right now and feel disappointed with the service and response from the hotel. Firstly the Aircon in the room was just OK it didn't cool the room as it should the response from the front desk was a shrug! The room is serviced but not hoovered why? Then my main annoyance I booked a bed and breakfast rate and was here for 3 days on the second day the milk in the fridge was out of date and eventually removed but not replaced, on day 3 (today) there was no milk or tea the front desk were apologetic but said they could do nothing!!! No milk for cereal no tea, easy to fix but this hotel clearly can't be bothered! The response from the absent manager will no doubt be the usual we will learn, we want our guests to have the best experience, etc etc but you had an opportunity to sort this out at the time and you chose not to! That's just poor management and Marriott need to review brand standards at this hotel urgently. Read less

This hotel has urine soaked mattresses. If a mattress is soiled throw it away. Having guests sleep on this filth should be crime. Do Not stay here it’s a rundown s***hole.
