I was with a senior tour group that stayed at the Hotel Monteleone for 5 nights. Each morning our group had a beautifully catered breakfast buffet in one of the Royal salons with eggs, meats, hot and cold cereals, breads, butter, jams, fruits, parfaits, and a good hotel blend coffee. Reception and concierge staff were friendly and helpful, and the housekeeping staff especially outstanding. Housekeeping did an immaculate job every day of cleaning, neatening, and resupplying bathroom towels, water glasses and bottles, coffee-maker condiments, etc. The rooms themselves are somewhat small and dated looking with carpets that show wear, but they are quite clean and comfortable. The water pressure in the toilet and shower was the most powerful I've ever experienced in a hotel, although one day there were problems with fluctuating water temperature, and shower curtains are flimsy and allow leaking onto the floor in spite of efforts to avoid this. The LG TV screen is notably small, but has a reasonable selection of popular news and entertainment channels. I was disappointed that the central building did not have vending machines, but sodas and snacks can be purchased at Walgreen's just half a block away. I did not use the fitness center or spa or eat at the on-site restaurant, so can't comment on those. Overall, the Hotel Monteleone is a convenient, comfortable, and well-staffed base of operations for exploring the French Quarter.
