My family had the BEST vacation at the Hyatt Regency Maui. We were greeted with friendly service from the moment we stepped on property. We had an oceanfront room and it was the perfect location. Everyone is helpful and makes you feel like you're home. The hotel has a beautiful lobby filled with lush plant life and wildlife like penguins, koi fish and parrots. The pools are large and warm, and my kids loved the water slide. The beachfront property has scenic views and easy access to the beach and Whalers Village. Thank you Hyatt Regency Maui for the trip of a lifetime! Read less

Food was great ! Ended up having breakfast there daily due to receiving and upgrade in our reservation and it was really good , with great variety ! Dinner at Japengos was excellent! Drinks at Umalus were good. Downside is beach area is more like a shoreline, but wider beach area is a short walk away. Overall I would definitely come back and recommend if you are traveling with family. Read less

I love the place and I have been going there for a while. Breakfast was included in the package and was icing on the cake. The place is clean and staff are above and beyond. I love the price from Costco package and the resort daily credit was awesome!

Overall, we had a great stay at the Hyatt and would definitely stay here again. Pools & Amenities: The pools are some of the best we’ve seen! Our kids loved that there was plenty of “deep end” space for real swimming, while younger children have their own splash pad and shallow areas. It’s a great setup. Location: We loved the location - easy walking distance to other resorts, beaches, restaurants, and shops. For spots farther down the beach, the free trolley was a nice bonus when we didn’t feel like walking. Dining: The food was fantastic. Pricey, but that's to be expected - this is a resort in Hawaii after all. Aside from everything else, I would come back just for the Ahi Poke Nachos from Umalu, and the sushi at Japengo was also very good. Spa: We did a couples massage and jacuzzi soak at the spa. Highly recommended! The relaxation room has a beautiful view overlooking the beach, and we were lucky enough to be there the same day as the Hawaii state canoe racing championships, so we were able to catch a few races right from our seats. Service & Housekeeping: Housekeeping was prompt on most days. Staff overall were attentive, though we did experience a long wait at check-in (about 45 minutes) due to being behind a couple demanding guests. One small disappointment: we requested to purchase some of the hotel’s shampoo, conditioner, and lotion to take home, and while we were told it would be delivered to our room, it never arrived. Final Thoughts: Even with a couple of small hiccups, our stay was fantastic. The combination of great pools, excellent food, relaxing spa, and a perfect location makes this an easy choice for a return visit. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Beware of “resort view” listing and rooms and suites are really small

Our original “resort view” room was a joke. It overlooked the roof with A/C units. I would have assumed it faced at least the inside of the resort area or the pool or something. The 2 bedroom (4 of us staying in there) for my wife and 2 daughters was tiny and nothing special at all. They did allow me to upgrade to a suite … for a massive… Read more
Our original “resort view” room was a joke. It overlooked the roof with A/C units. I would have assumed it faced at least the inside of the resort area or the pool or something. The 2 bedroom (4 of us staying in there) for my wife and 2 daughters was tiny and nothing special at all. They did allow me to upgrade to a suite … for a massive upcharge … and it was slightly larger than the room. The suite’s toilet was not separate from the shower / sinks so the bathroom could only be used for one person at a time. Overall not the best experience. I felt like the front desk staff was either untrained or not helpful. They didn’t seem to be able to offer any solutions that were reasonable. Read less
