Do NOT stay in this area of the island unless you don’t care about being able to sit outside on the beach or at the pool. The property is very nice and the condos are spacious and well kept. Very comfortable. But…the location is NOT enjoyable. Very windy and rainy everyday. Farther south just a few miles is wildly warmer, sunnier and drier! We couldn’t sit at the pool or beach for any of our stay, which was so disappointing (especially for what we paid)! Had to drive to other beaches farther south. I wish I had researched how different the climate can be just a few miles apart. Hope this helps someone avoid booking in that Northern area. Read less

Overpriced and dated accommodations. The condo was very spacious. However it was not nearly as updated and attractive as the photos on the website. It clearly hadn't been updated for at least 30 years. The kitchen was terribly equipped. Glassware cooking pots etc could have been updated from a dollar store and been better. There is absolutely no service available from the resort itself. The office had very limited hours. The fridge and freezer were malfunctioning and failing intermittently. An email sent to their service department received no response at all. For $700 canadian per night we could have stayed in a regular beachside hotel with much better service. There is no value for the addon resort fee and service and cleaning charges. They actually wanted us to take out all our own garbage and recycling. What is the cleaning fee for? Obviously no Improvements or updates have been put in this unit in decades and they were charging outrageous sums of money and giving no support whatsoever. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating While Kapalua Bay Villas is great, do not waste your $ on unit 19G2. I’ve had nicer camping spaces or college dorms.

In all the years we’ve been coming here we have never been disappointed, until now. We are in 19G1&2 and it’s TERRIBLE. Do not waste your $ in this unit. The owners should be ashamed of themselves and management should do better. There is no artwork on the walls. No rugs on the floor, all hard tile. There’s not even rugs in the bathroom. You get 1 crappy little towel to step onto out of the shower. There was no dresser in the bedroom, so you spend all this money to live out of a suitcase for 3 weeks. Every faucet leaks and the kitchen faucet just runs if you don’t turn it off exactly right. The kitchen is abysmally stocked. There’s 2 crappy pans to cook with. No mixing bowls, or serving plates. There is a coffee maker,,,,the lid falls off when you pour your coffee. There are at least dishes and coffee mugs, I guess I should be thankful for that. And don’t expect any of the items that make it nice to go to the beach or pool, you’ll get none. No chairs, no noodles, no cooler, no nothing. You’ll have to pay to rent that from somewhere on the island. If that’s not bad enough, there are also no comforters on the beds, just sheets and a thin blanket. Look in the closets if you want to find extra paint, lamps, mirrors & all the other junk the owners are stashing there. Seriously,,,,,how are people renting this for these prices in good conscience? They should be embarrassed. Find another unit. This is a wonderful place to stay, just not in 19G1 or 2 Read less

The Kapalua villas are undoubtedly set beautifully - in a manicured gated community and provide a wonderful base from which to explore the island. However, please be aware that there are some significant extra costs associated that aren’t immediately advertised which, if I’m honest, do detract from the experience and would be better factored in from the outset ….. 1) You will pay a substantial daily cleaning fee, regardless of how much mess you make. This also does not constitute a daily maid service and you are still expected to take all your trash out upon departure!! 2) There is an obligatory ‘damage protection’ fee, regardless of whether you damage anything or not!! 3) The standard daily resort fee ….of course!!! Once you get past these extra costs, the condos are well furnished and comfortable ….. but nothing ‘high end’. The village has a handy ABC store and the drive to/from the airport is easy and takes approximately 50mins. The beach is a short walk and is very beautiful, but does get quite busy. All in all, I suspect there is better value for money on the island as this place is a little ‘style over substance’. Read less

Kapalua golf villa 23T 4&5 is very comfy, with a great location and lovely views, set amidst beautiful and lush landscapes. Did a lot of Whale watching from the lanai. (Whale watching boat trip was an extra bonanza)! We swam in the Kapalua beach and hiked the coastal trail, the golf course walkways (all at a walkable distance). The Kapalua Burger shack and Taverna are good close by restaurants. Condo kitchen is also well equipped - we could barbeque and cook home food if we felt like. We were a group of 4 adults. My parents are early risers, wanted to start using the kitchenette early, so chose the living room sofa cum bed- slept like babies! The condo has all amenities, 2 full bathrooms, 2 TVs, washer, dryer, dishwasher etc - a home away from home! Frolicked at the Napili and Kanapalli beaches too and then at sunset got some excercise in the residents' pools.Though it is an old apartment, it has been renovated and the rental is a steal! Best of all no steps to climb after a hard day of having fun - elders loved that! Maui is really the most beautiful and versatile island we have ever visited. Golfers, surfers, snorkelers, nature lovers paradise - loved the magical forest! Enjoyed Maui to the full and already dreaming of the next visit! Read less
