Boothbay Harbor Inn has plusses and minuses like many hotels/Inns. It has close proximity to restaurants, shops, and excursions. It's convenient to take a walking bridge nearby to take over to the shops/excursions/restaurants. It sits right on the harbor/marina and has excellent sunsets. The personnel at the front desk were all pleasant and very professional. The room was very clean, the linens were clean and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk personnel were prompt on any requests (ie, fresh towels, etc). The negatives are the following: Upon arrival and opening the door you can clearly see that the carpeting is dated and soiled. It needs to be replaced. The interior walls need to have a fresh coat of paint. Upon arrival and walking down the hall one can smell some sort of fumes that are chemically based. I'm not sure what that was. It was not cigarette smoke. The room which had an excellent view was very dated and not roomy at all. It was small with two queen sized beds. The bathroom was dated with ceramic tile that also needed to be replaced. The bathroom was small as well and there was minimal space to spread out toiletries. The toilet sat very low to the floor and is more adequate for kids, in height, than adults which should be comfort height. There was no breakfast, lunch, or supper available in the Inn. If you want that, you have to go elsewhere. It's something to consider after traveling all day to get there. Make sure to compare all reviews of all hotels and inns along with prices and then discern what's best for you and your budget. The view just out the slider on ground level was incredible and beautiful. If you're just going to use this as a place to stay and can look past the cosmetics then this might be for you. If you want something more, then it's important to look somewhere else. Read less

This is the second time we have stayed here. Last year was great, we were in the main building on ground floor and this year thought we were booking the main building upper floor. This is the second time we have stayed here. Last year was great, we were in the main building on ground floor and this year thought we were booking the main building upper floor. Pictures of the views of what we thought we booked were very misleading. We ended up in the Harborview Building across the parking lot with an obstructed view and feeling like you are right on top of your neighbors. The room is so dark my friend is calling us the mole people. Has everything we need but not what we thought we were paying for so we were disappointed. Also the restrooms are both out of order in the main building. If you go for happy hour be prepared to walk back over to your mole room to use the bathroom. Read less

Next door an upscale sister hotel had a great bar for cocktails with wonderful bartender and staff. the hotel is right next to the walking bridge to cross over to shops and restaurants - great location, just slightly off season before the crowds - will go again!! Recently, my family travelled to Boothbay for a wedding. Their stay at Boothbay Harbor Inn was great! The harbor view was only outdone by the welcoming staff, particularly the Inn's manager, Cindy. My family was travelling with an infant, and Cindy and her staff were more than accommodating!

The rooms here are the cleanest that I have ever experienced! We travel a lot and typically stay at Hampton Inns and the Boothbay Harbor Inn beat them hands down! The front desk staff were also friendly and very helpful and the view was wonderful.
