This could be the blueprint for any self-respecting Vermont hotel. Clapboard architecture painted in soothing shades. Rocking chairs lining the grand front porch. Elegant New England furnishings you’ll long to replicate back home. Kimpton Taconic Hotel gives the authentic Vermont experience. And its location throws you in the deep end too – right on Main Street in one of the state’s most historic and most charming villages, it’s got all those famous Taconic and Green Mountain moments in virtual touching distance, from leaf peeping, to skiing, to summer festivals. Creating a more homely hideaway than most hotels, they’ve included full American breakfasts, morning tea and coffee in the Living Room, and a social hour every evening. Although you also get perks you won’t find at home – like a heated outdoor pool and the exceptional farm-to-fork fare of The Copper Grouse tavern.

Excellent attention to detail. Very helpful at check in and an informative agent at the front desk. Would highly recommend staying at the Kimpton Taconic Hotel.
An updated historic hotel in the heart of Manchester VT. Bed is dreamy and shower fab.

Exceptionally nice experience all the way around. This 10-year old IHG-branded hotel feels brand new, is clean, and is staffed with friendly people. We enjoyed a lunch and a breakfast in the hotel's dining room but not a dinner (wish we had because their wine list is especially well curated). Food is delicious and wait staff cordial and on top of their game. Shout out to Kristin for her particularly professional waitressing.
Highly recommended; we'll be back for sure.

WE had an awesome time at the Taconic. Joe was super helpful with our luggage and getting it in and out of our car. He even gave us water for the ride home. WE had an awesome time at the Taconic. Joe was super helpful with our luggage and getting it in and out of our car. He even gave us water for the ride home. I would highly recommend the Taconic as the rooms are beautiful and clean too. They came and changed our bed on a daily basis. WE had a handicapped room and it was so very spacious. The people at the Front Desk were super helpful in getting us to the right places. WE were there for a wedding at Hildene and it was spectacular. WE had the rehearsal party at the Taconic and it was just a beautiful setting. Everyone enjoyed it."
Thank you so much for helping to make this weekend a very special time.

Love this place. The rooms are so comfortable and the staff, especially Jaye and the manager Stella are the best! The hotel is very upscale without being stuffy or overly pretentious. Great location! Can't wait to go back!
Nice hotel, good location

Great location, very nice hotel. The lobby is very welcoming, and the restaurant for breakfast was great (could have used more servers, however). The room was on the small side, but the bed was very comfortable. I agree with another visitor's comment on the bathroom lighting. It was very dark to put on makeup.

While others loved the idea of the hotel being pet-friendly, we did not enjoy that experience, especially eating breakfast with three dogs nearby and a server getting a water dish for one of the dogs. We can't believe that the Board of Health lets restaurants have non-service dogs where people are eating--rules must be different in Vermont. The hotel should consider offering rooms for dog owners and rooms for other visitors. Not everyone wants a room that a dog may have been in.
Other downsides: No freezer in the refrigerator, no tea/coffee offered in the room. Yes, it's offered in the morning in the lobby, but for a resort that Travel & Leisure considers one of the top 10 in the country (something we highly dispute), this should be in every room for visitors who would like tea/coffee at night.
Overall, it's a fine hotel for the area. Much better than some of the other motels and hotels in the area.
