“Our home away from home.”

My wife Ellen and I have been staying here twice a year (shoulder season) for over 15 years, first with our beloved dog "Benny" and now with our beloved dog "Daisy". Brass lantern and consistently been a lovely experience, largely due to the current innkeeper who has worked there from the start, Sharon. We will continue coming as long as she is there. Thank you Sharon and thank you to the former owner, Michele!

“Great little Inn”

Great location! Walkable to Town. Comfortable, clean and good size rooms. Nice patio area for relaxing. Breakfast is continental. It would be nice if they offered a protein option such as a hard boiled egg. Good fruit and cookies, tea and water selection for most of the day. We definitely would return.

We love the Brass Lantern, and will stay there again, Moreover, we are happy to recommend this hotel to any/all of our friends. It is a cute little bed and breakfast/inn located on a quiet stretch of North Water Street in the heart of Nantucket. Sharon, the innkeeper is a wonderful woman who knows how to treat people, is very competent, friendly and knowledgeable. In and out, the inn itself is clean, cozy and welcoming. The outdoor courtyard is extremely relaxing and beautiful. The breakfast, with freshly prepared baked goods, fresh fruits and coffee, is delicious. I would love if eggs, even hard boiled, were added to the fare. Keep in mind that the Brass Lantern is an Inn, and not a resort hotel. The price is right, and it is perfect for a couple who want a centrally located clean and comfy place to stay, but are not concerned with sea views, a pool, tennis court, bar, shops or restaurant on the premises. After all, all of these these things (except maybe the pool) are within a 2 minute walk of the inn. One word of caution: if you are unable to climb steepish steps, choose one of the rooms on the first floor. The stairs to the 2d floor might be inconvenient for some. We have stayed at TBL more than once, and we find it absolutely perfect for our needs.
