“Don’t expect the tiny details. Maybe they don’t care?”

Every little request was botched. Asked for extra creamer, nada. Asked for body wash to be refilled, nada. Asked for bar of soap, nada. Finally checked out and they billed the wrong credit card. Think that’s easy to fix? Not when they don’t answer the phone or return calls. Ok, I’ll send them an email. What no email address? Maybe thanks NY hospitality?

“Sweat smells in all the rooms”

I have to say, my experience at the Sheraton Brooklyn was frankly unacceptable for a Marriott property. The first room I received had a distinct and frankly gross smell—like stale body sweat—that made it clear the room hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. I asked to be moved, only to find the second room had the exact same revolting odor. This kind of pervasive issue across multiple rooms is completely unacceptable. As a loyal Marriott guest who’s stayed at their properties around the world, I expect a baseline level of cleanliness. Paying top dollar for a room that smells like someone else’s sweat is beyond disappointing—it’s outrageous. This should never happen at any hotel, let alone a Marriott. I sincerely hope management takes immediate action to fix this.

“Nice room but broken systems and poor service”

I was very disappointed with the whole experience. While the location is very good and the room is nicely sized and comfortable, we had problems that were not addressed. The air conditioner and heating system wasn’t working, the repair man could not fix it. The phone didn’t work. I asked the front desk to give me a discount and they said they would but they didn’t. I emailed Daniel Lam (the front desk manager) 3 times about it and he never responded to me. They didn’t address anything before I checked out. I had to contact Marriott to address my concerns and I received Marriott points but that is not what I really wanted. Overall, I was not happy about my stay at all and will not recommend this hotel.
