When it comes to ‘you-time’, Sheraton Brooklyn New York covers every kind of pleasure: there’s the fitness centre for the health-conscious; the Starbucks® café for the caffeine-hungry; and the rooftop garden for those in need of fresh air – and the odd cocktail. Sitting among the skyscrapers of Brooklyn, the Asian-infused Kimoto Rooftop & Bar gives a nod to the East in its carefully created bar food, curated craft beers, and concocted cocktails. Throw in views over the buzzing district and towards the Statue of Liberty, and you’ll see why it’s one of the hotel’s most popular meeting spots. In fact, it’s the perfect place to head after a day exploring your neighbourhood, which packs in dining, shopping, and entertainment – much of it just a stroll away at City Point Brooklyn.

Stayed one night prior to cruise. Well located in downtown Brooklyn. Staff was excellent, room clean (floors uncarpeted, a nice feature). Accessible to Brooklyn Bridge and Promenade. Trader Joe's, retail, and a variety of dining options a short walk away.
Unpleasant stay

If you can avoid this hotel I would! First there is a homeless shelter next door and the residents will stand outside the hotel and smoke pot.
Second the air wasn’t working in our first room so I asked the front desk to check on it. After being gone all day we returned to learn nothing was done. They switched our room..

Second the air wasn’t working in our first room so I asked the front desk to check on it. After being gone all day we returned to learn nothing was done. They switched our room..
The air worked at first.. then it stopped. Again I stopped by the desk and THIS time I spoke to DANNY the Manager who lied to my face about the situation and never sent anyone up to look at it.
I complained enough that they added points to my account because that was easy for them.
The hotel is old .. AVOID it!

Hotel is a disgrace. Terrible management and reception staff. Hotel over books. Not at all what you would expect from a Sheraton branded hotel. Never stay here! 2 star at best. Suggest you try Aloft Hotel next door. Aloft as to be better!! Cant be worse!!
The things to love about this hotel

Here is my list of things you will love about this hotel
1. No AC on a 70 degree day. The first room they assigned had the AC set to 45 but the room was at 79. The second room seemed better but it never got below 76.
2. Noisy Mechanicals. They were incredibly loud but at least it was a constant noise. The rooms look to have been refreshed not…

2. Noisy Mechanicals. They were incredibly loud but at least it was a constant noise. The rooms look to have been refreshed not too long ago. I want to congratulate this property on finding bathroom fans that were nearly as noisy as the AC that didn’t cool.
3. Nothing says a great nights sleep like a lumpy mattress. The thin pillows were also a very nice touch.
4. No body soap in the shower. I applaud Marriott for going to refillable soap dispensers. Looks like they neglected to inform their staff to refill them.
On a less tongue in cheek note. The check in process was great. The front desk staff was great. When I called about the first room being sauna like, the person said they would go look at at alternate rooms and bring me the keys rather than make me come back to the desk. A small thing that goes a long way.

Great location near food, shopping and public transit

I was pleasantly surprised about the location after checking in. I was pleasantly surprised about the location after checking in. It's right across the street from a small park (with a very small dog park) and a block away from the DeKalb Market Hall that has a food court with many non-chain fast food options and a brewery, and is attached to a Trader Joe's. There's a Target nearby and lots of shopping and places to eat in the area. It's also close to 2 different subway stops/lines and a bus stop. The price was in line with other places. My king room was small but enough room for me with a fridge and coffee maker. There's a coffee shop in the lower level of the hotel that's open during the day that has some food (The Purple Rainbow) with a lovely space to hang out. I will definitely stay here again.
