The perfect spot for a romantic getaway! Superb location for access to all NYC's fun, rooftop bars, museums, theatre, and subways to beat the street gridlock. Safe for a late-night return after the Times Square midnight art billboard sync-up. Very responsive staff (you can message through their app), comfy bed, and blackout shades. I stayed here recently and was genuinely impressed. The location was perfect — close to everything I wanted to explore but still felt peaceful and tucked away enough to relax at the end of the day. Whether you’re walking, catching a train, or grabbing a bite nearby, everything’s super accessible. I also have to give credit to the staff, who were all warm, helpful, and professional. They made the whole experience feel seamless and comfortable. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of comfort, convenience, and style. Read less

The authentic Broadway decor adds to the ambiance, and the second floor terrace and rooftop bar are sensational. A tremendous location in easy walking distance to all the theatres and Time Square. Also close to delis, classic restaurants, NY pizza joints and souvenir shops. I stay there every year for a work trip and have never been disappointed. Can't wait to return next July. Highly recommend! A++++++++ Read less

And this second time the staff was even more helpful, nicer, compasionate, always eager to help us even with a mother that was recover from an injury and needed some extra help and patience. I travel a lot around the globe but sadly after covid I have experienced a down treatment from hotel and staff in general, something that luckly in civilian Hotel is not the tendency, as I said everyone was wonderful. The location is perfect, the decoration is dreamy, the bed extra confy and also amazing view! I will not staying in another hotel when visiting new york:) Read less

My daughter and I traveled from Maine to NYC to take in a bunch of Broadway shows between 7/20 and 7/25. During our 5-day trip, we stayed at The Civilian in a spacious, double room. Check-in was a breeze. I never was able to get the app to work (I blame my phone) but we were still able to check-in online. Upon arrival, the staff were very helpful… Read more

Check-in was a breeze. I never was able to get the app to work (I blame my phone) but we were still able to check-in online. Upon arrival, the staff were very helpful and we were in our room in no time. They were proactive and sent a text on the second day of our visit to make sure we were settled in and see if we needed anything. We went with the Civilian Basic housekeeping, but when we asked for service it arrived almost immediately. The room was clean. Probably one of the cleanest I’ve stayed at! The beds were comfortable; everything about this place is great. The decor in and of itself is a highlight and I urge you to check the place out. My daughter is also a big fan of Mom’s Kitchen which is right down the street (there are tons of restaurant options in this area as well!). We hated to leave and can’t wait to go back. Stay here, you won’t regret it! Read less
