We checked into the Fitzpatrick Grand Central and then took the 7 Train to the NY Mets game and back. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay at this extraordinary hotel. Brendan at the front desk along with Garfield the Concierge were truly remarkable and helped to make our stay and trip a memorable one. They were more than accommodating and they went out of their way to make sure the twins had a special day. The hotel which is perfectly located near Grand Central has great comfortable rooms and the entire hotel was immaculately clean with a charming decor. Read less

I so much wanted to return from this hotel confident that I had made a good choice and able to recommend it to friends and colleagues. It’s been 20 years since my last visit to New York and I reckon that around then this hotel would have been exemplary …. now I’m afraid it’s long past its glory days. It’s a real pity because its location is hard to beat, around the corner from Lexington Avenue and Grand Central . The staff are friendly and welcoming , shout out to Sophie and Geoff on reception . I kinda feel sorry for for these hard working staff, from reception , bar to cleaners because if its obvious to me that this place is run down and in need of serious investment then what is happening to staff morale? The public areas look tired and worn. The bar area is actually quite characterful, lots of dark wood and little booths. Our room on the 9th floor while large would be near the top of the queue if/when the money is spent . The aircon is supplied by a wheeled stand alone unit which is seriously noisy. The power points in the room ( we could only fund one that wasn’t been used for TV/lamp) were old 3 point ones which would not hold our two pin adapters in place( they fell out of the wall) The plug in the bathroom sink was stuck in the closed position and had to be prised open. We returned one day at after 4 pm to find the room hadn’t been serviced although we met the lady cleaner nearby and she apologised . We had a meal one evening which was pretty good and breakfast was good. I want to return but I fear a for sale sign may be going up soon. . Read less

I was pleasantly surprised and so impressed with the beautiful suite. I then went downstairs to explore the restaurant and bar and Jaheel at the bar was also warm and kind and encouraged me to check out the menu and gave me 2 bottles of water. The staff at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central are the epitome of exemplary hospitality. They make you feel as if you’re staying at a friend’s home and are just so delightful to a weary traveler! Pretty ragged around the edges. Rooms are dark and dreary, breakfast fare was mediocre, and the waiter clearly wanted to be doing anything but serving us (the only table in there at the time). No drinking glasses provided, and a shower fixture came off in my hand. It’s clean and in a great location, but otherwise there’s absolutely nothing to… Read more

Our first visit to NYC, spending 6 nights at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central. Location was perfect, with Grand Central Station 3 minutes away. The Staff were all pleasant and helpful and the bar was friendly. We will return.
